My friends and I thought this would be a good social distancing activity. We saw that masks were required in the buses and on land and that made us feel really safe. When we finished our tubing trip, multiple people on the shuttle ride back to our cars were NOT wearing masks.

Thank you very much for your recent visit and also for sharing your valid concerns with us. We are adapting as best we can to this current pandemic way of life, as many other businesses and fellow Americans are too. Please try to understand that here at Cape Fear River Adventures, we are committed to doing our absolute best to keep up as many safety precautions as we feel capable of. Currently, we simply do not have the human-power to strictly enforce masks on our transport vehicles and before/after check-in. We do have signs on the property, on our website, social media, and in our email correspondence saying these things are required. Our employees are always required to wear masks, and we are truly grateful for when our customers hold to that sense of safety and social responsibility as well. We try very hard to enforce these guidelines with customers who need reminding, but we have also gotten some hostile push-back from various customers who simply won’t be socially responsible during this time. Some customers have gotten VERY upset about being asked to mask up and we just need to resort to being careful ourselves, it seems. Our employees all know how invested in the safety of our customers we are, both on land, in the river, and now with COVID-19. It’s a very weird line to tread, these days… We don’t understand some folks’ indignation about masks, yet here we are. Speaking on a personal note, when I go out, I make sure myself and my three kids wear masks and wash our hands as much as possible because we’re taking this pandemic seriously. I am also aware that there are, sadly, still some folks in this area who refuse to mask up and keep a safe distance from others. For this reason, I’ve started taking an excess of caution while going about my limited errands. There is a risk every single time I go out these days it seems, mainly from people who aren’t taking COVID-19 seriously and not wearing a mask. I’m including my own personal anecdote because of your comment regarding customers you witnessed not wearing masks or physically distancing. I am dismayed in that as well, but like I said, we simply cannot force folks to wear masks. We cannot refuse customers transport back after their trip. But WE can employ these safety tactics ourselves in an excess of caution. We hope you can understand that we are trying, we really are. I am so sorry you felt unsafe here. We certainly hope that nothing comes of your trip with us and please let us know if there’s anything we can do to ease your mind about this. The wearing of masks in this time is necessary and valid, and we are in disbelief that there are still so many who do not share the same sense of social responsibility as kind folks like you do. Again, our most sincere apologies for making you feel unsafe, Jillian. We really are doing what we can, but travelling anywhere in this time is still, understandably, nerve-wracking. Not just due to COVID-19, but certain factions of the public who are treating others disrespectfully by not practicing safe habits or becoming angry when confronted about it. We are eagerly awaiting the time when this period of uncertainty and deadly virus will be a thing of the past.

About twice a year the crew from Cape Fear brings canoes and kayaks to assist in our Crabtree Creek cleanup. The service has always been great. The crew has consistently helped make the cleanup successful. Thanks, Jim

The staff was friendly and helpful. Prices seemed reasonable. My friend and I enjoyed our little afternoon kayaking trip. My only regret is if i wouldn’t have sleep in so long we would have been able to do one of the whitewater trips. Save it for next time i guess.

This company offers River Tours using kayaks, canoes, or floating tubes. They are all self guided. You’ll leave from their main facility in Lillington, where you can walk to the Cape Fear River. They have several single or tandem kayaks, as well as the other ways to float down

I took my teenage daughters on a cruise down the river with kayaks and tubes - SO fun and relaxing! The river is beautiful and staff was extremely helpful and the equipment was great - loved having the tube for our coolers so we could bring our lunch and lots of drinks along.
