Extremely helpful staff and a hidden beauty!
While visiting the lavender farm, my son 3, was stung by a wasp. We were approached by a customer who took it upon herself to go and get some help for him from the cafe staff.. she reappeared with sting cream, closely followed by the lady from the cafe who bought him water and ice. Later while clearing the tables the lady from the cafe left the up turnt glass on the table containing said wasp so that my little boy could visually see that it couldn’t sting him again and only once we were leaving the cafe area did she release the wasp. This was very thoughtful and caring of both ladies. The lavender field its-self is beautiful to walk through. We have done this with my son every year for the past 3 years and take yearly photos. They sell a-lot of different plants and lavender products in and around the cafe area. They sell a beautiful selection of lavender cakes and biscuits. I recommended the lavender and almond sponge and lavender shortbread. I was also able to puck up a pot of culinary lavender to give to my aunt whom i bought a lavender cookbook for the previous year.. a wonder few hours, even with a wasp sting.

    Lovely place
Visited this lavender farm a few times and it really is lovely. Was quite busy for a Thursday afternoon. Had a wander around the gardens and lavender fields. Few plants for sale. Cafe/shop is really nice. We were going to stop for an ice cream, but there wasn't much choice and the children couldn't find one they liked so we didn't stay, but it was a lovely cafe with outdoor seating and the cakes looked so good. Free to enter, but there is a collection box for donations.

My Husband I regularly visit the lavender farm living locally and have always enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, especially in the garden cafe.
However on visiting today with our young grandchildren, whilst we were having a lovely stroll around the gardens seeing other families enjoy the piece and quiet, out of the blue an older man driving a small tractor suddenly came past and stopped, shouting abruptly to a young Indian family because the Father had picked an apple from the tree for his children, we stood there in amazement at what we were seeing and hearing, it also frightened our grandchildren who wanted to go home.

What a nasty miserable man, an apple for goodness sake was not the end of the world, he should be ashamed of himself.

We Imagine the family were tourists, who will now go away and probably never return.

The lavender was beautiful. The ploughman's they serve is overpriced, one very tiny slice bread, one piece cheese, few uninteresting lettuce leaves and pot chutney, £10 .... seriously!!! Beckington farm shop down the road does a decent ploughman's. Anyway, lavender lovely to see but maybe just coffee if we go again.

When we arrived to the farm after travelling about two hours, we were underwhelmed by how the internet portrayed the fields; in reality, they were different. It was a sunny day and I had visions of several purple fields and an abundance of sunflowers.
The lavender fields were just about to be harvested, and there were a few clusters of sunflowers. Perhaps this was the reason for the lavender looking dull. Nevertheless, the website has over emphasised the richness of colour .
It was also disappointing that the garden centre didn't carry a wide choice of lavender either .
The only field that was nice was the yellow flowers , which I could have seen locally .
Perhaps August is out of season , if so the website should advertise this .

Lovely family run farm, they are very friendly and welcoming - always happy to have a chat and give advice. They have the best homemade lavender cake, which I highly recommend! Had a peaceful few hours wandering around their beautiful flower and veg garden. If you’re lucky they often have fresh veg that’s grown on the farm for sale in the shop, best cabbage I’ve eaten in years!! Really excellent place ran by hard working, gold hearted people.... I will keep coming back for years

We were so pleased to visit the Lavender Farm in Faulkland, Somerset. They are now open Wednesday to Sunday so please visit them. They sell the best hanging baskets we know. Great to know they are gradually returning to normal.

This was our first visit to the Lavender farm as we have recently moved into the area.
Lovely location and well laid out with lavender fields to walk round which will be better when they are in full bloom. You can also buy plants here.
They also have a small tea room and gift shop where you can buy their lavender products.
I had a lavender flavoured scone which was excellent and my wife had the lavender shortbread.
We sat outside with lovely views over Somerset.
We’ll go back and hope that others will visit this well run farm

We visited Somerset Lavender following a recommendation from a friend as I wanted to purchase some lavender based products.
It did not disappoint us.
We purchased some lavender plants for our garden, and were given some excellent advice on varieties by the lady in the farm shop. I also purchased some lavender-based skin products which I have used before, and found them to be excellent.
We will definintely visit again as it is so peaceful and in a beautiful setting.
Thank you for being so welcoming, and for showing us such kindness.
