Just down the street from Lake Lure is this little gem. Well, not so little. The park has some 10-12 miles hiking trails associated with it but we only rode the mountain bike trail. This a loop trail with steep climbs but the downhill was...More

We hiked this trail and it was a pretty trip through the woods, but it is definitely more for bikers. The trail is smooth ,but slippery when wet.

This 3.5 mile trail will test your climbing stamina but you will be rewarded by excellent flowing downhill sections. Great vertical climb. Amazing and fun finish on the clockwise direction -like a luge run. There are several beautiful views of the lake and of Ken's...More

This trail is strenuous. Particularly in August. We hiked it and we seemed to have a much easier time than the bikers going the opposite way. New trail, so it's in fine shape. But with all of the trees you will not have any vistas...More
