This is a must see for all outdoor enthusiasts & lovers of beauty & nature! This old bridge is readily accessed near the beach and marina areas of Lake Lure. We visited right after Christmas, and the decorations were amazing. Visiting the bridge is free, although donations are gladly accepted. Local folks provide the gardening & take pride in their displays. There are seasonal displays & lots of perennials and garden art as well. There are many benches to prolong your enjoyment. Free parking is available at both ends of the bridge & there there is a port-o-potty at one end.

What a sweet & special landmark this is. Thank you to all of the people who are cultivating and maintaining this beautiful garden walk. We visited during the time of the “Bunnies on the Bridge” theme for Easter, so my kids were delighted to wander and hunt for all the hidden Easter eggs while I was free to stroll and snap photos of the many cute decorations & flowers. They were so excited that they found over 80 eggs total! The bridge is full of whimsy that will charm all ages both young & old, and reminded me so much of my late grandmother. She loved things just like this, and I wish she could have seen it with me! It’s also a wonderful spot to enjoy views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Be sure to check it out if you’re visiting Chimney Rock or Lake Lure. Open 24/7 year-round, with plenty of free parking. I’d absolutely return again & again anytime we are visiting the area.

The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is a delightful diversion for those seeking solace in the beauty of flowering plants and whimsical garden displays.
Various sections have unique themes and feature vast varieties of beautiful blossoms. Many are labeled, and the attention to detail and extensive beds, potted choices, garden architecture plus benches, kiosks and the background of spectacular mountains and the river make this a subtle but wonderful attraction.
Allow 1- 1 1/2 hour; parking is available at either end and a porta potty offers unsophisticated restroom facilities. Currently a Canadian goose has decided to nest In one of the flower boxes, giving a close up view of these beautiful birds.

I was headed to Chimney Rock to hike for National Go Take A Hike Day. On the way i stopped of at this beautiful garden.

This garden was once a 1925 bridge. But by 2010 it was becoming obsolete and a new bridge was being built. There was a community meeting held and the 50 people who showed up decided to take on the arduous task of convincing the department of transportation to let them have the bridge. After negotiating, the bridge was turned over Friends of the Flowering Bridge. It was opened in 2013. Today the 155 foot, 3 arch bridge has been repurposed into something beautiful. It offers views of Chimney Rock and overlooks the Broad River.

I arrive and park. This place is simply breathtaking. What they did with this bridge will leave you speachless. Flowers abound. There are secret gardens, arches, globes peaking out from plants, river views, views of Chimney Rock, and seasonal decorations. One of my favorites is an area for the doggos that includes a fire hydrant and a dog stick library.

When I was here, there was plenty of fall to be found. But there are gnomes going up every where. One of the volunteers tells me if I am back after 5, that the gnomes will be completed and the holiday lights up. So I made sure I stopped back on the way back home.

There is free parking. There is no admission for the gardens. But there is a donation box so please make a donation as it isn't free to run this place. It is handicapped accessible.

I can not recommend this place enough.

After a morning of fishing and a very nice lunch, I headed out to the Flowering Bridge late afternoon. It is the most unique garden I've ever seen! I loved the good variety of plants, but especially enjoyed the fairy gardens and the "painted" book covers! Parking was easy that time of day and it was not too crowded so I was able to meander along the path at a slow pace so I wouldn't miss anything. The views of the Rocky Broad River from the bridge were breathtaking. I highly recommend the Flowering Bridge at Lake Lure if you're in the area. .

Absolutely gorgeous. Convenient stop between Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Informational- there are signs with plant suggestions for various garden themes and all plants are named. Cute gnomes and decor enhance the different areas. We spent about 15-20 minutes and even my teen boys like it.

It’s small and parking is a little hard sometimes but you can park a little farther if needed and walk, as it’s worth it! Many of the plants are identified. The artwork in the gardens and intimate spaces made for a really wonderful experience for ALL ages. A lot of big bumblebees and butterflies. Definitely bring the littles, there were dogs and the path was a little tight so if you aren’t a dog lover you’re just going to have to survive. Bring your cameras. The garden spans over a bridge and it was really nice.

We love hiking around easy to manage areas. Especially enjoy all the labeled flowers so you can decide what might be appropriate for your own yard. I think there could be a few more seating options and maybe a picnic area close to the parking lot for spending more leisure time there. There is also a nice riverside walk in Chimney Rock, that has access between the old rock cafe and coffee on the rocks, but lacks seating along that path. Try a path also across from Ingles grocery. But this bridge walk is the best!

Just beyond the crowded tourist shops of Chimney Rock Village sits this quaint garden on a bridge overlooking the Broad River and Lake Lure. Rather than tear down this historic structure, the town left it open to foot traffic and built a maze of flower gardens along its distance. Most of the plants were dormant when we visited, but the bridge was decked out with holiday decorations ranging from tasteful to extremely tacky and interesting works of outdoor art adorned the walkways. The bridge is probably best viewed in the spring or summer, but it always offer a nice short walk after a long car ride. There are also nice views of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock from the bridge. The only downside is that the new bridge runs right next to it and there is traffic noise.

This is a beautiful garden, and we got many ideas for our own home. We went on a Tuesday between 10 a.m. and noon when the volunteers were working. My daughter saw at least 15 plastic butterflies spread throughout the garden, so she got her own plastic butterfly and seeds to plant a mix of flowers to attract butterflies.

My dog also enjoyed the stroll through the gardens.
