We really enjoyed this 55-min tour. Beautiful lake! Boat captain was giving us a lot of information about lake and its surroundings. It was very hot day, but it was not too bad on the boat. It’s definitely worth $16 per person. I would recommend to come at 10 am to get your tickets because tour sells very quickly.

I'll mirror a lot of the recent feedback- the tour guide himself was very knowledgable and friendly, keeping his mask on at all times, yet we could hear him. But a couple of the people booking tours were a little short with people when they tried to book. These tours do get booked up quickly (I imagine especially because of reduced capacity thanks to Covid), but I would not call them "friendly". If that doesn't matter much to you, come check them out because the lake is beautiful, the guide was great, and the offer tours on the hour.

Loved our time on the boat and seeing the beautiful lake. Had a great tour guide and was fun to learn about the different homes, history, Dirty Dancing movie, etc. Initially booked tickets for Thursday but the boat broke down so it was cancelled - would recommend giving them your phone number so they would have a way to notify you ahead of time (we planned our entire day around it). They gave us tickets to the following day. It's an expensive for a family activity and was less than an hour (which was surprising since that's how it was marketed). Would be great if they could team up with the beach and create a pass for both but Lake Lure is BEAUTIFUL (homes, water, views, etc). Before or after recommend walking around the little park on the other side of the parking lot. Also great for fishing, picnic, reading, etc

We came to Asheville for a week as a group of 17 (ages 10 month old to 45 year old) and decided to do a day trip to lake lure. We called and got a boat tour and Dawayne C was our captain. It was amazing!! He was funny and kept us entertained. He gave us some cool facts about the lake and information about the houses on the lake. My favorite part was the story about the island. You’ll have to take the tour and ask for Dwayne C to hear the rest of the story. I highly recommend.

When we arrived at the Bat Cave area for the week, we knew Lake Lure was close, and true to its name, it Lured us right in. From the minute we saw it from Chimney Rock lookout we knew we needed on that water. Enter Lake Lure Tours and Captain Jeff! You can tell he absolutely loves what he does; his knowledge of the area and its history was not only captivating but added to the ambience of the tour. He took his time, showed the group the highlights, and his favorite spots along with his favorite stories. I'd recommend this tour to anyone that comes through, hands down some of the best money spent while in the area. Thank you, Jeff!

the pontoon boat was wonderful, we rented the boat for 2 hours, 9 people for the 10 person boat - it was suppose to be $200. they charged us $260 because all their 10 person boats were rented. Not my fault they gave us a 13 person boat, I want a refund of $60, all I am getting is the run-around, called twice, emailed twice, I was told "Corporate" would call us within 48 hrs, its been over a month. I do not recommend this company - they are plenty of others there that are honest.

My wife and I have taken this boat tour in the past and found it to be most enjoyable. We drove from Asheville to Lake Lure to ride the boat and found that the only tours left were a 3 and 4 hour wait. That’s not the issue,. The issue, is the “I could care less” attitude of the young girl working the ticket stand. I didn’t get her name, but I’m not sure we would have ridden the boat even if there was available space. I didn’t expect a hug, but, I did expect a more welcoming demeanor than what we received. The boat ride is a lot of relaxing fun, but having to put up with an attitude, takes away some of the fun.

Let me start out by saying Dwayne C. is the best boat captain around! His tour of the lake and his knowledge of it's history made the tour really interesting and fun. Letting some small kids "help" him run the boat was also very cute. What a memory those kids will have forever! The homes along the edge of the lake are gorgeous! His salute to a veteran onboard was and is what makes America the greatest country on the world.
Thank You Dwayne!

This 40 minute or so boat ride offers many scenic views of a truly beautiful lake and its surroundings. The tour guide John was very knowledgeable and his narration added to the enjoyment (although a microphone would have been helpful). A relaxing trip on a lovely lake.

My brother did the town tour a few years earlier and highly recommended it so it was on our list of things to do. We learned about this tour, (at Rumbling Bald), and decided to do it. We're so glad we did! It was the highlight of our trip! I think it covers about all, (if not all), of the lake that is coverable by a boat with a motor. The 'captain' was great! She not only knows the local history; she is an avid diver, (and climber), and knows what lies beneath the water as well. (She told us when we were passing over a church, {and the story about it's steeple and stained glass windows}, and when we were passing over it's cemetery.) She pointed out many houses of interest and a few sites where houses once stood. (Two were burned and one simply slid into the lake.) And she told us the story of each one.

As everything else; prices have gone up since the reviews I've read from several years ago. The cost now is $23 per person. (There's a 15% discount if you have a "Rumbling Bald" card.) It's well worth it! (And this is coming from someone that's very thrifty.) Our tour lasted almost 2 hours and it was filled with interesting sights and information. (We even saw a bald head eagle perched in the top of a tree; however, our guide says they'll be leaving, {migrating}, next month.) I'm so glad we did the tour, (and we might even do it again.) We highly recommend it!
