the pontoon boat was wonderful, we rented the boat for 2 hours, 9 people for the 10 person boat - it was suppose to be $200. they charged us $260 because all their 10 person boats were rented. Not my fault they gave us a 13 person boat, I want a refund of $60, all I am getting is the run-around, called twice, emailed twice, I was told "Corporate" would call us within 48 hrs, its been over a month. I do not recommend this company - they are plenty of others there that are honest.…

Captain Duane did a great job telling the history of Lake Lure. Much better than we anticipated. Highly recommend! Only downside was the first come tickets.

The tickets are sold first come first serve. So get there early. After we purchased our tickets we still had a hour wait to take the boat ride. We learned the history of the lake and area. We saw truly amazing houses and where part of Dirty Dancing was filmed. The tour guide was truly engaging, sorry I don't remember his name, he said he was originally from Philly. Lake Lure Tours leave on the hour from 11 am through 5 pm. BUT, be aware, they sell tickets daily on a first-come-first-served basis starting at 10 am. We did not realize that and arrived at about 10:45 to purchase tickets and they were sold out until the 3 pm tour. We did the tour at 3 and were so glad we did. Nice covered pontoon boat that seats about 16-18. Great narration, beautiful scenery.…
