Very friendly people!

You must just walk out on the pier and watch the fishermen, it's free. The people in the store are so very friendly! We grabbed an ice cream and just took in the sights!

We take a walk on the pier every year when we make our annual trip to Ft Fisher. Usually after a great meal at Freddie's. It's interesting watching the people out there fishing.

First of all, let me say I'm glad to see Hurricane Matthew didn't damage this iconic structure. Spent about an hour on the pier today, chatting with some of the locals (and not so locals) spending their afternoon feeding the fish. I say that because I didn't see a single one reeled in while I was there. But, I guess... More

Easy to get to and park. We enjoyed the fishing and got to see a large shark. Nice view of the beach from the pier.

The store leading to the pier is a colorful, locally popular spot. That being said, in October the shelves were at least 1/2 empty. There is a small snack bar that appeared to still be serving a limited menu. The pier itself was fairly crowded with fishermen, didn't see anyone bringing in fish, but the "reds" were supposed to be... More

Took a weekend trip down and had a great time. The beach was beautiful. It was nice to walk through the shop and be able to go out on the pier, just to explore. You are not charged to walk out on the pier if you are not fishing. I absolutely loved the big porch swings lined down the sidewalk.... More

Hubs wanted to fish. First trip to Kure. Great pier, really nice staff, good selection in store (he bought me my first rod, a beautiful pink rod with a reel that lights up!). Ice cream was wonderful.

Took my little ones for a walk down the pier. It was clean and lots of people fishing which was neat for the kids to see. Nice bonus is that they don't charge to walk the pier, just for fishing. Nice Pier shop also with ice cream and fishing stuff

Love this pier. Been coming here for years. When my children were small, they would join me...fish a little...eat sardines..& enjoy the view...the people...the fishing...& sometimes catching. I have been here when there were less than a dozen people fishing & when you were shoulder to shoulder slaying the spots. You can King fish, but no shark fishing...even though you... More

We really like just walking out on piers and seeing a different view of the ocean as well as the unique people fishing. This pier is long enough to give a good view, and there is no charge if you are just sightseeing. How can you get a better deal than that?
