Great area and use it all the time. I walk my dogs there. You always see something different. If doing this during the summer you may want a little bug spray but other than that it is awesome.

Enjoyed picking shells on a relatively uncrowded beach. Husband fished I picked shells. Found 2 broken conchs, a few whelks, a sand dollar, and lots of calico scallop shells. Nothing biting that day, but sun, sand, and surf were Worth the price of admission.

We had a wonderful time at the beach at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. The parking was easy and the facilities were great. We had an easy boardwalk stroll to the beach.
