I'm not so much a history buff, but this was very interesting. The walk is invigorating. Good family vacation stop. It's nice to see children interested in something other than their phones or playing games. Although it was a couples visit for us, I think it would be an excellent place for adults and children alike.

We had not visited the Wright Brothers National Memorial in over 20 years. Having read David McCullough's recent book on Wilbur and Orville Wright, I wanted to make a return visit. It was a very hot August day on the Outer Banks, so we initially limited our outdoor time to a quick visit to the outstanding, new metal sculpture that... More

Very interesting for kids and adults. To see what the Wright Brothers endured to follow their dream was incredible. Just the way they had to travel to get there and the weather they had to put up with made the visit worth while. By the way if your 62 and older you can buy a lifetime pass for the National... More

Really enjoyed the speaker and the exhibits. Only fee was the entrance to the National Park unless you already had a park pass. Parking wasn't too bad. A must see!

This is a great place to see once in your life! It is literally the birthplace of flight! You can walk the path where the first airplane was tested and there are markers showing the distance that each of the flights went. In the museum there are replicas of the planes and all kinds of interesting information. It is a... More

Controlled flight began here....in early 1900......100 years later we are in space. My wife and I visited this location a few years ago....and were amazed by it.....and we loved the beacon. First flights were very difficult....not very high....not very long.....and due to a happy circumstance in my opinion. We have since been to Dayton Ohio...to see the Wright Brothers exhibits... We visited here as a family with young kids and had a fantastic time. It was a very hot day when we visited but still had a great time. The visitors centre is well laid out and the hourly presentation from the guides is well worth watching, they explain how the Wright Flyer works and explain how these basic theories... More

We stumbled onto a day filled with activities and exhibits and speakers. Best part was no admission fee for the day. Great tribute to the birthplace of aviation. Really enjoyed the many portraits of important people in aviation and their stories! The life-size replicas on display helped us understand the history here. The facility could use updating...only reason I did... More

Went there during mid-day to spend a few hours. The indoor portion has some replicas and posters to read. Ranger presentations a few times during the day. The memorial is quite a walk from the main parking area. If you don't want to make the trek, drive to close to the memorial and there are limited parking spaces around the... More

These two bros were wicked smart. They figured out how to make it work. Controlled sustained motorized flight. Thanks guys for what you did and getting us air-borne. For history lovers, the volunteer guides and docents do a great job with the history presentation. The trek up to the monument is not for those out of shape. Worth the walk,... More
