So many things to do on the New River. We have gone tubing, and canoeing. Several people kayak, and I would like to try that next. The river is shallow and most areas are very calm. Very scenic.

The New River is clean. There are activities for everyone: play in the water, canoe, kayak, tube, swim, fish, observe wildlife, and more.

Not many people around here when my wife and I visited the the river. Could hear birds singing without distractions. Seen deer around the area. Even heard a bullfrog in the distance. Very relaxing.

We live near the New River in Jefferson North Carolina and I grew up and my kids grew-up playing in this river. We have canoed and inner-tubed this river many times over the years and I can honestly say that I love living here.

We floated and paddled several times on the river while staying at New a River State Park (221 Access). The water was clear, cool and relaxing.

If you are near Jefferson, with family, you have to rent canoes at New River Outfitters General Store and take the 2-3 hour canoe trip. We go every year with family, it is so much fun! There is no hassle or waiting at this place,...More

Can't really say. It looked clear. Not many live around there. I would guess it is in my opinion.
