The store is located halfway from the capital towards the border with Guatemala. Here you can look for pleasant souvenirs.

Delightful little spot to have a breakfast
Mar 2020 • Friends
Stopped in unplanned for breakfast. Enjoyed a lovely burrito with lime juice.

Food is fresh no complaints at all.

It opens at 6am and access is incredibly easy right off the road.

A must see
Jan 2020
The hand crafted wood furniture and bowls were beautiful. Couldn’t buy anything big because wouldn’t fit in my luggage but I did buy a cribbage board. It is definitely worth stopping in though. Unbelievable pieces of art, what talent

Belizean Gift Shop
Dec 2019
We made a quick stop at the Orange Gallery on our way back to the airport. The shop has many beautiful locally made wood crafts. If you are looking for other types of souvenirs, you should avoid this place. We found the same items at the airport for half the price.

Hi Meile, Thank you for the feedback! Due to our commitment to forest sustainability, the environment, fair wage practice, and the business laws of Belize, we cannot always compete on price but there are few who can beat us on quality! Our wood is not only sustainably harvested but also kiln dried. Kiln drying ads cost to the product but limits the self-destructive cracking of the wood when you take it into summer AC or winter heat. Our kiln is one of only a hand-full of solar-heated kilns, making it environmentally friendly. And sustainably harvested wood is often triple the price of wood stolen from the tropical forest reserves! Also, bare in mind that there are woods that, whilst called "hardwoods", are very soft, cheap, and not durable, while other woods are of very high quality and quite expensive. Woods like Mahogany, Zericote, Rosewood, and the rarest of the rare, burls, which are so rare, they are traded by the pound! We utilize only the highest quality of each of the aforementioned expensive woods and we specialize in Burl turnings, carvings, and other art. While our competition utilizes only sanding sealer as a finish (which it is certainly NOT), sanding sealer is just the first coat of 5-7 more coats to come in our shop! We use the very best carnauba wax on some items and the very best polyurethane finish on others (neither of which are available in Belize, that means we must import them exclusively for our use). While our competition may only sand their products up 80 or 100 grit and not do so thoroughly, we sand some of our products to 240, 400, and 600, many of our products are sanded up to 2000. For the untrained eye looking at different products in stores 70 miles apart, one may think the finish is comparable, but for people who collect wood art, the difference is incomparable, like night and day. I could go on but suffice to say, we pay fair wages, pay all our taxes and licenses, we use solar power to power our Gallery/Giftshop, and we're proud to employ more than 60% women! The next time you're back in The Orange Gallery, it would be my pleasure to invite you to take a tour of our woodshop and grounds, located right behind the Gallery. Wishing you a Happy and Healthy 2020! Cheers, Julian Sherrard Owner

Stopped in by accident and was delighted by the woodworking and artwork. Not your typical gift shop. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices seemed very fair

Decent restaurant. Interesting store.

Stopped to check out the gallery. Wood work was awesome. Especially the jars. Museum quality. Not our style but I can appreciate the work. Other art work was good. We purchased some jewelry for the wide. Cashier recommended the restaurant.

Pizza was ok. Better than frozen. But who expects more in Belize? I had tamarind chicken. Surprisingly better than I expected. We would highly recommend the store and if it is a meal time, give the restaurant a try.

Fantastic local wood art, lovely cafe and tourist items for purchase
Feb 2019 • Family
This gallery is well visible on the Highway between Belmopan and San Ignacio.

They have their own wood-turning studio on-site and the section at the rear of the Gallery offers an outstanding array of local wooden artwork including bowls, statues, furniture and other wood products crafted by artists from a wide range of local wood of varied colours and texture. Truly impressive and we purchased two pieces to bring back to Canada.

Along with the larger and more expensive artists’ works in the back, there are lovely locally-crafted pens from different woods, and other items such as board games

There is also a good selection of locally produced hot sauces, coffee, other foods and soaps.

Much of the rest of the Gallery is standard tourist souvenir stuff.

Outside is a beautiful covered café with refreshing iced coffees, beer and freshly made food such as tostadas, looking out onto flowers and trees.

Clean, open, bright and welcoming. Free parking and washrooms on site, along with a table tennis table.
