Holden beach is wonderful! If you don't want the hustle and bustle of the Outer Banks or Myrtle beach, this is the place to go. Very relaxed and incredible views. We chose the third week of August which is off season. The beach is not busy as well as the restaurants. It is one hour away from myrtle beach! Check... More

We've been traveling to Holden Beach, NC for over 10 years (from PA, about 10 hours drive). For me, it's the best beach area north of the Caribbean! It's quaint, low key, quiet and never crowded. There are only a few restaurants on the island, and not many activities to do...simply a gorgeous beach! There are no buildings taller than... More

Coming from Wisconsin, an extended family of 11, ages 8 - 76, visited Holden Beach Aug 6-13, 2016. First off, the beach is beautiful and uncrowded because there are only homes and no resorts here. Very nice! We had the privilege of witnessing 3 separate turtle nests hatch. What an incredible experience, and they were right by our rental property!... More

We have been going since the mid 1970's. We now have a place off the causeway and try to go down every month. In my opinion it has a perfect single home to business ratio! The on island business's welcome you with open arms a lot of them will get to know you by name. There is ample shopping areas... More

Excellent beautiful beach. Good for families as advertised. Not a lot of great restaurants in the area. Good for biking because of the flat Terrain.

Oh what a treasure, I've owned here since the late 90's while my family has vacationed here since the early 70's. If only the local government would address the parking issues. Local government embraces all the positive reviews in all the travel publications and even advertise seeking additional tourists however on holiday weekends be forewarned you will get hit with... Only a couple of condos on the 6-mile long island, the rest are single family homes, which keeps the density of people down. There's a couple of small shops on the island, and a few small restaurants to hangout in, but nothing fancy. The beach is usually pretty clean unless a storm washes materials up onto the beach. Never crowded... More

We traveled here with my best friend and his family, having never been here before. I must say that this place has went well above the expectations my wife and I had. It is a lot more peaceful than the fast paced Myrtle beach that we used to vacation at, still having plenty of nearby activities for the children to... More
