Well worth the hike. If your young and in shape it's an easy hike. If your middle aged, like us, it's a moderate hike and watch out for roots. I would suggest tennis shoes or better. Our adult children wore flip flops (would not recommend). The hike can be hard on the knees. My husband has trouble with his knees... More

This was an enjoyable walk along a well maintained trail with great views of Glen falls from both upper and lower aspects. The decent was easy but as other reviewers have noted save some energy for the climb back to the parking area. The road to the falls was gravel but well maintained and the was adequate parking for probably... More

This is a beautiful waterfall don't miss it but be careful the walk is steep going down and there are many gnarled tree roots. Pace yourself and save your energy as you will need it for the climb back up well worth it

Loved Glen Falls! Two days minimum can be spent at GF as there are two sides to explore. The first three falls are beautiful and stunning...but keep going down the trail for as long as you like - there are more falls to be found! The trails can be a mildly steep, but worth the climb and photo moments. Peaceful,... More

Glen Falls is a set of 3 cascading falls located just outside Highlands, NC. The falls are very nice and pleasant to look at. It is approximately one mile from the parking lot down to the bottom falls. The hike down is steep but there are wooden steps to help in the descent. The hike back up serves as an... More

This is a not too strenuous hike through the woods. The falls are more beautiful than spectacular. We enjoyed it.

Even with low water volume, it's still well worth hiking down and back. With low water, you can even walk into the stream safely at some points.

The trail is relatively short but a bit steep. If you are not acclimated to the altitude this may be somewhat of a challenge, but overall it was a nice scenic hike.
