Stroll through wildflowers, flowering shrubs and trees native to North Carolina and the Nantahala National Forest. Great for flower lovers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers. The nature center displays live and stuffed examples of local fauna. .

Our walk through the woods with winding trails, offering observation of differing natural habitats was sweet. The trails are well cared for, soft, cushiony supported by a soft wood chip base. Woods walk area is natural Appalachian plants, scrubs and trees preserving the natural habitat...More

Amazing variety of plants, well identified, plenty of space for walking, and a lake-side picnic spot. The Nature Center has an especially interesting snake identification display. Very useful. Ideal in Spring when there are more blossoms. We will go back next month.

It depends on the weather that year, but there are several varieties that bloom throughout May, June and July. If you go during those months you are sure to see some!
