Stroll through wildflowers, flowering shrubs and trees native to North Carolina and the Nantahala National Forest. Great for flower lovers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers. The nature center displays live and stuffed examples of local fauna. .

The Nature Center is situated a few blocks down Main Street from the hustle and bustle of shopping and eating. The moment you walk in, you are amazed. Nature galore. Fun interactive displays, lots of animals, a beautiful nature trail and friendly, educated "guides". People...More

Amazing variety of plants, well identified, plenty of space for walking, and a lake-side picnic spot. The Nature Center has an especially interesting snake identification display. Very useful. Ideal in Spring when there are more blossoms. We will go back next month.

It depends on the weather that year, but there are several varieties that bloom throughout May, June and July. If you go during those months you are sure to see some!
