Took the organized hike with the tour guide from Old Edwards Inn and Spa. It was a nice diversion from the activities that are on-site at Old Edwards. It was about a 2 mile hike from Old Edwards to the Biological Station where we took...More

Visited the botanical gardens. Maybe June just isn't the right time of year, but it felt overgrown and untended-to. If you're in Highlands, then just drive to one of the nearby hikes if you're looking to get in touch with nature!

This is a short somewhat interesting walk through this wild land setting. Problem is that the entire area is so overgrown with vegetation that it hides the pond and makes walking on the trail a bit awkward. The folks that operate this natural area might...More

This was really just a walk along a road, a gravel road and very uneven paths thru the woods. You could only see the lake in one place when walking around it. The paths through the woods needs a wooden boardwalk. Didn't see the garden...More

Although small, it's a wonderful attraction, well worth your time if you enjoy local plant and learning about botany. Great, highly motivated staff.

Mountain laurel and other native plants cover this area. Each plant variety is labeled. Great place for a field trip for biology students.

Found this by accident as the sun was setting, very happy we found it. Very well designed, tons of plants, quiet escape from the resort town traffic. In the evening we were completely alone. Nice to have solitude in a lush garden environment.

The fall colors were perfect and the trails through the woods beautiful. The labeled plants were mostly gone but the lake was stunning. Perfectly still water and reflections of the trees was breathtaking.

It depends on the weather that year, but there are several varieties that bloom throughout May, June and July. If you go during those months you are sure to see some!
