If you are into hiking and want nice views, this is the hike for you. Plan on about 90 minutes to make a round-trip. It seems easier to go up the nice path on the left and return on the steeper section. Larger dog can make it but little dogs will have trouble in sections unless they are good at... More

About 45 minutes to hike up. Only a few view points and the Blue Ridge has naturally a haze. Nice to see but it doesn't have much value for pictures. The climb is gradual and fairly easy. Nevertheless, good exercise.

I love this place. Loop trails are my favorite because there is always something new ahead. Once at the top, you might see peregrine falcons or rock climbers edging over the rocks. The view goes on forever. Here's a tip. There are stairs to the right and an old road to the left. Since it is a loop trail, go... More

We hiked to the top on a very warm August day I think if the temperatures had been lower we would have enjoyed the walk more it is a steep climb up but you are on a gravel road and you do not have to struggle for putting the past is clearly marked and unobstructed the views at the top... More

Ask anyone where are best mountain views in the Highlands area and they will immediately say Whiteside. Once you reach the top of the mile hike over large boulders and mud trails - the views are stunning at every turn. Photos do not do it justice - an absolute must! The trails are narrow, inches from the mountain edge -... More

This a moderate hike and well worth the view from the top. Be sure and do the entire loop as there are multiple viewing spots from the top. The left path is a gradual upward climb. The right path is a steeper climb up wooden stairs.

Nice 2 mile hike to see some incredible views. Go the the right at the fork in the loop. Go down the crevice at the top and see some amazing drop-offs!

The hike is 2 miles in total and the views are incredible. You are climbing a 400 million year old rock. Easy to medium climb.
