Although we have made this hike/climb on numerous occasions, it is always a treat particularly when you can share the experience with friends and family. Highly recommended.

Be sure to walk the full circle and not go up and return the same way. The views are beautiful. There is an incline/decline, but it is not all that bad. The last few steps down I wished I would of had my walking stick, but we managed. There is a parking fee at this site. Many reviews addressed the... More

I have visited Whiteside Mountain on the old Whiteside Cove Road and it is like going back in time, with many older homes. Highlands and Cashiers have many waterfalls nearby. A wonderful vacation spot, with many rental cabins on Whiteside Cove Road. Went to one cabin for our 50th anniversary, which was in June 2001, and traveled through on day... More

Excellent hike. When we arrived, no parking... but that quickly changes, so just wait it out. There was a park ranger helping with traffic. We brought snacks and had a drink & snack break before descending down. We went up the "easy" way and down the hard way.

This was a pretty easy hike with great views. I love that there are multiple places to stop and take in the view. The loop offers two ways in/out. We took the path up and steps down and finished it within about an hour. Parking is limited and when we left around 10:30 on a Saturday there were no spots... More

The loop itself is a doable distance. The second half of the loop is much more uneven terrain. If you have concerns it would be just as easy to do an out and back route versus loop. The views were amazing!

A well maintained trail that took about 21/2 hrs to complete the loop. We took our time and stopped at many overlook areas. Views are worth the hike up the mountain which was easy to moderate in difficulty.

My boyfriend and our dog and I did the hike to the top of Whiteside Mountain last week and had a great time. You don't get to the views until the top, at least in the summer when the foliage is full, but the view at the top is totally worth it. I discovered my boyfriend had a fear of... More

Hike is perfect length... not too hard, but decent exercise. Views were incredible and well worth it. Not too far a drive from Highlands.

If you are into hiking and want nice views, this is the hike for you. Plan on about 90 minutes to make a round-trip. It seems easier to go up the nice path on the left and return on the steeper section. Larger dog can make it but little dogs will have trouble in sections unless they are good at... More
