Our family visited Grandad's Apples a few years ago and had a good time so we wanted to go back on this beautiful, fall weekend! Apparently, so did everyone else...
We arrived about 10:30 on Saturday morning and while we found a parking spot fairly easily, the place was already busy! We decided to forgo standing in the bakery line and instead bought bags for U-pick apples($11 ea) and the corn maze ($4 ea). Our kids (ages 15 and 9) briefly checked out the play area and then we headed to the corn maze.
This year's maze had a Chic-fil-A theme, although you don't know that as you're walking around. I was pretty impressed with ourselves as we made it through in about 20 minutes! Next it was on to the apple orchards. Be sure and go to all sides/fields as some of the trees in the back were loaded but less people.
After we filled our bags we were ready to go as there were lines for everything.
As we were leaving about 11:30 we noticed the front gate was closed! I assume this was due to capacity, but I am not sure. I'd just hate to be a family with small kids who drove there only to have to turn around. FYI.... We had a nice time and I'd go back.

Great apple farm in real apple country (Hendersonville, NC, home of the Apple Festival). Large sales "room" (actually a barn). The apple cider was some of the best we've ever had. You can mix different varieties of apples picked from large barrels (o buy them by the bag). Lots of canned/jarred related products (like apple butter, etc). There is an apple pastry shop as well (and the smell wafting through the sales room will knock you over, so good). They also have a corn maze to explore (for a cost). Very friendly sales staff. It is very close to Hendersonville. The apple festival in early September will cause it to deal with huge crowds. Prices for apples and cider are in line with all the other area farms and reasonable enough. Canned and jarred products our a little more pricey

Great way to buy or pick your own variety of apples on a nicely laid out farm for couples or families. Has a bakery, viewing area of some sheep and a burro, play area for the kids, pond with an apple cannon and huge area for parking. It was busy when we visited but everything moves very smoothly so the crowd did not deter us. Recommend the Apple Cider doesn't get any better!

Excellent location for apples, cider and fun. Was very crowded on the weekend (definitely recommend weekdays) and the apple supply for certain brands are somewhat limited this year due to weather. Great quality and helpful staff.

We always arrive earlier in the morning mid-week when you can enjoy the establishment before the crowds. You can move freely and get the apples you want. The apples are average prices with some other apple houses in the area offering better deals, like $10 a peck vs $14 a peck here. A short line at the bakery was really nice and we bought the fried apple pies, slices of apple pie, and 1/2 dozen of the cider donuts. All ranged from very good - excellent with the donuts always our favorite. Good prices at $3.50 each for the fried and sliced version. We also thoroughly enjoy the apple caramel cookies and they last well in the fridge. Heat them a bit in the microwave and it's as good as it gets. Lots of parking but the lot is mostly dirt so don't expect a clean car afterwards. Friendly girls at the counter. Thanks!

Employees were knowledgeable and helpful. We wanted a certain variety of apples but were none but lady there helped us find a good option. Same when lady in the bakery. Great looking place. Very pretty. Obvious they take it very serious and do a great job. The cookies almost did not make it home! The cookies and some of the apples have been tested and gotten real great reviews. Sadly about three hours away. As clean as farmers market as I have every seen.

Came for a couple hours, first started out at the corn maze which unfortunately did not meet expectations, maybe it was because we were 3 adults with no kids, but the maze took all of 10 minutes. $5 each for the corn maze, apple cannons, and cow train or $14 for all 3, cash only! The line for the bakery to get apple cider and donuts gets long quick. We waited 30 minutes in line while the smell of apple cider donuts teased us and our bellies. The donuts were warm and fresh, better the day you buy them, they were soggy the next day. I had a cider donut ice cream sandwich which consisted of vanilla soft serve ice cream in between two donuts, I also got a hot apple cider, and needed a second hand to eat the sandwich so I inhaled it quick before realizing there were picnic tables outside. Their Mountain Glacier dessert (Apple cider slushie, topped with vanilla soft serve ice cream and crumbled caramel apple cider cookies on top) seemed to be quite popular. Very nice farm also had a small patch of sunflowers to enjoy. We purchased a few of their fermented hard apple cider to drink later and it was a dry cider.

A must stop - I live near by and it seems my car has trouble just driving by. The cider and apple donuts are top on my list. Sit and rock in one of the chairs - enjoy the views of the mountains. The line can be long sometimes but it moves quickly - and when you get your warm donut just cooked... you'll see any wait was well worth it!

Used to be our favorite family orchard and part of our Labor Day family weekend. Without knowing we came to an empty playground with the attractions all gone where our grandkids love going. We arrived at four due to rain all day. I got in line for donuts and was outside the building in line for twenty minutes when I got around corner I heard the person in front of me being told there were more donuts I asked if there would be and was rudely told. We have apple slushies and chocolate chip cookies. The only thing for our kids to do was the cow train. We went down there forgetting we needed cash. So we went back up to cashier and again were rudely told it was too late. That was the last train. It was five. The website said they closed at six but don’t be mistaken they close before five. We left with sad little children and without buying all the apples and other items we usually do and we won’t return.

We made two trips there this fall and had a great time sampling different types of apples they had for sample. If you go you must have the apple cider doughnuts, warning, they are delicious and addictive. This is a great family place and there many families and kids of all ages. Lots of great local made jams honey etc to purchase. They are only open seasonally so check first before you go. A nice way to spend a weekend afternoon !

I believe that the process and bottle there cider off the premises but there’s plenty of varieties. There are several great wineries in the area that have grape stomping contest. Goggle and see if u can catch one date. The wineries are worth the visit. Hope this helps
