We got the big green bucket and would have paid the cost for the stones we found in it but the experience was a joy for the kids. Worth it all the way around. They took time with the kids and explained what each piece was. The kids found a large geode that they broke for us at the shop.... More

This is a perfect place to get a taste of mining without having to hike into the hills, dig in the dirt and haul your spoils back to see what you have found. The buckets you buy from them are loaded with stones and sand, which is what you scoop into the screens and run through the rushing water. Though... More

Small but epic place. Lots of gems and items for sale. Mine your own buckets of dirt. Great and educational fun for kids or anyone who loves gems and discovery.

My family came down from Atlanta and had always wanted to do mining so I took them here and they absolutely loved it!!! The employees were very helpful in identifying all of our stones and their gift shop has amazing gems and fossils. Best part is they have a petting area where we got to feed baby goats! Will definitely... More

They bring the dirt in from? The price was reasonable. Before it became Elijah Mountain Gem Mine, it was a little flea market. They have a few goats there.

It was my first time going to a gem mine and we had a great time. The employee was nice and helpful. The only thing I wish they would have done was help identify the stones we found. I asked about one specific stone and he did help identify it but it would have been nice if he would have... More

Took our 4.5 year old son for the first time who has been dreaming of going gemstone mining. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The set up was great. Employees where so friendly and informative. The mining part was great but even just walking around the store was great! We are already planning another trip back. HIGHLY recommended.

When our grandchildren arrive to visit us every spring, it's a toss-up whether or not we'll get our hugs before they say, "When can we go to the rock place?" Elijah's is now a family tradition, for sure. And it's hard to tell who has more fun -- the kids uncovering the surprises in their buckets, or the adults watching... More
