Great nature walk off the beaten path. Easy to get to, but rough road driving into. (Gravel, not very well maintained) Over all, on a nice cool day, it's a pleasant way to spend time with nature. Don't forget the bug repellant!!

Beautiful trail, well marked most of the way. We brought the ENO hammocks and snacks. Set them up right by the shore with a great view.

We went from Pine Cliffs to 306, then looped back. Clear, cool day after the rains, so much to see -- beautiful views, lots of cypress and palmetto, lovely, quiet forest. The section on 306 is a slog, but worth it for the rest. I'd...More

22 mile trail going thru a variety of coastal swamps and pine forest. Lots of places to camp out. You can hike to whole trail end to end or break it up into shorter sections.

Trail is primitive(the way we like it) and very well marked. You would need to be blind not to see all the blazing on the trail. Some of the trail is pretty new since some trees fell into the water due to erosion of the...More

Looking for fall/winter areas to ride my cyclocross bike - found a pretty nice one here. If you are going to ride, pay attention to all the roots, they will sneak up and take you down! The woops were a hoot and the beauty was...More

While you can camp pretty much anywhere in the Croatan NF, you can not camp at the Pine Cliffs Recreation Area, it is a day use area only. As the Horse Parking lot it closed for some sort of construction, I would contact... More
