Why is this an attraction? Don't blink or you will miss it. The small inlet has water during a storm and helps prevent road damage. An attraction? Not for us.

Beautiful access to beach with lots of information on migratory bird patterns and the nature of the outer banks and shifting sands. Wish there had been more information about the New New Inlet...but a nice place to stop along the highway and take a break.

Couldn't travel to Ocracoke via Hatteras last year due to the hurricane damage - including New Inlet. There's a temporary bridge in place for the time being so, check it out while you can. Highway 12 is open and the ferrys to Ocracoke are running this year. See what nature can do.
