The staff at Shadow Springs is one of the friendliest ones I have ever visited, The way I am treated when I walk in the door to an establishment, usually sets the tone for the remainder of my experience. Every time I visit, they are welcoming. And Sat, June 25, 2022 was no different. I arrived with 18 of my closest friends to do a winery tour, starting with their winery, and it set the tone for an absolutely fantastic day! Their wines are delicious. The Seyval Blanc this season, is fabulous, without a doubt. I can't wait to open the bottle I bought! And, of course, I never leave without buying a bottle of my all-time favorite, Dark Shadow. The atmosphere & scenery is warm, charming and relaxing. This is truly one of my favorite wineries/vineyards in the area. You absolutely must try them out if you haven't yet.... what are you waiting for?

Shadow Springs has been one of my favorite wineries since my first visit long, long ago. It's so great that I became a Wine Club member. Jamie is an amazing owner/hostess. She makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated. If you like French-Bordeaux style wines, you'll love Shadow Springs. They even have a few semi-sweet and sweet wines, for those who would rather not have dry wines. My favorites are their Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Chambourcin, and Meritage- a really excellent blend. They typically have 14-16 wines to taste. Of the seven wineries in the Swan Creek area, this is the best!

Thanks for the review Matt! We're honored to be on your top 5 list and happy that you have been coming back all these years :) Cab Franc is one of my favorites as well, glad to see that it is becoming more and more popular these days!

Favorite winery in North Carolina. Good wines, beautiful scenery, and great conversation with owner. Always buy red wine here.

We toured on the 4th of July. The atmosphere was wonderful and the wines were great. We enjoyed sitting out by the pond, watching the wildlife and sipping some wine. The staff / owners are always so welcoming.

Visited twice recently. Although it was nicer/larger than I expected this Vineyard it still missing a few things that would improve the experience.
Feel. Its just missing. On approach the Facility looks like someones home, not a business, certainly not a vineyard nor tasting room. Some tables and sitting area on the approach side would help this place greatly... As would additional landscaping.
As for the pond side... Shade! No shade where all the sitting areas are. Plant some large trees, install a large attractive canopy. Do something to encourage use.
The wines were pretty good and there is a huge selection. Prices are average. Enjoyed my visits however the entire facility is sorta stale and without character.

The owners are incredibly nice and helpful. They seem very passionate about what they do and explain their wines with great detail.

I love their Midnight Run, which is a brandy-wine blend. It's not for the feeble taste buds! But my hands down favorite is French Kiss. We have ordered three cases since we first tasted it. Delicious!

I visited here along with a few of the other Swan Creek Vineyards on Saturday the 1st. This unfortunately was my least favorite. The place is beautiful. Grounds are great and a beautiful pond outside to enjoy on a nice day and the tasting room is very nice. I only wish I enjoyed the experience more. The dessert wines, the strawberry, the chocolate and the combination of the two were really good. If dessert wine is your thing you'll like it. The other whites and reds were just ok. What really lacked was the service. We walked in and the 3 people conducting tastings each had 2 people they were working with and then we were the only 2 waiting. No one acknowledged us at all when we came in. I wouldn't have wanted them to interrupt their tasting but at least a hello we'll be with you soon would have been nice. When we finally did start out tasting the lady doing our tasting was very lacking in excitement. She didn't have much to say about the wine and even said that the merlot...well it's just a merlot. I know she meant there was nothing extra in it but her lack of interest of the wines just really hurt the presentation. Another customer next to us started telling us which wine she really enjoyed when she noticed the lady conducting our tasting did not seem interested in them at all. Towards the end, the gentlemen conducting tastings did come over and assist with ours and he was more excited about the wine and that helped some. This is the only winery we didn't buy anything at. Unfortunatley it was just not the best experience compared to the other swan lake vineyards (including dobbins, raffaldini, elkin, shelton) that we visited. The only reason I would go back is if I wanted dessert wine. It is beautiful but other wineries in the area are as well.

I have stopped in several times, and have never been disappointed at any time. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The grounds are beautiful. There is a good variety of wines from dry to very sweet (chocolate, anyone?)

This winery has been really well designed to take in the gorgeous views over the water and the vineyards. There is a nice outside deck to sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the view. The tasting room has nice high ceilings, and a friendly atmosphere created by knowledgeable staff. Wines are sweeter here too.
