Great exercise

A bit hard to find initially but once there it's great. We walked about 5 miles on the path. It's level and safe to walk, run, for kids on bikes. The website/gps address isn't helpful to tell you how to get there though. There are multiple entry points at the end of streets. Best to go to the town center area to start.

Beautiful green scenery!

I love this greenway. In the morning sometimes, I'll take a 3 mile walk through here towards Town Common and there are a few overviews and side paths leading to a better look at the river. I will definitely be making this a regular nature trail and recommend it.

Wonderful walking spot in Greenville
Jun 2018 • Couples
Whether you're looking for a quiet walking spot, fun family walk or bike ride, spot to walk your dog, take a jog, or paved trail for cycling, the Greenway is for you! Lots of greenery, birds, and turtles to look for along your way to the river. If youre up for a longer trek, keep going to the Town Commons. Change it up by starting at that end. Parking is available both ends.. Town Com.ons or across from St. Peter's Church on E. 5th St.

Nice Scenery but Don't Walk Alone
Oct 2017 • Solo
I wanted to find a new walking trail in Greenville and decided to try this one. It's 3.2 miles long one way. The scenery of the river and trees were breathtaking. There were many shaded areas that it made it comfortable. However, there were times that I felt worried because I was walking by myself, not many people were on the trail, and it seemed like it was taking me too far into the woods. I definitely recommend you walk with a partner and keep you cell phone handy just to be safe.

Good greenway, needs expansion to service the entire county. Wish it was tied to a rails to trials and connected the entire state of North Carolina.

My only serious complaint is the trash including furniture that is very visible from the walking path

Nice incorporation of city and nature

Has something for everyone-- super nice new playground, walking/ biking trails, dog parks (one for hug and one for small dogs), places to sit by the river, portapotties, water fountains, connections to river accesses and neighborhoods, plenty of parking, cool bridge

Great trail, even in Winter
Feb 2017 • Couples
My girlfriend is a Greenville resident, and took me there yesterday for a walk. The temperature was in the 70's, and that's warm, even for NC, in February. This trail system is perfect for walking, bicycling, hanging out, or connecting the downtown area with a tranquil country atmosphere. Slthough this was off-season, the place was full of people, due to the great weather. Everyone was cheerful, and cyclists are very good about warning you as they come up behind you. If you have a dog, there is a fenced area where your pup can roam free and frolic with other canine buddies.
The walk has several different spokes you can choose, and occasionally you do have to walk in the neighborhood before reconnecting with the wooded trail. The river is beautiful, and there were people boating there and lots of folks fishing on the river bank, too.
This is a great idea that more cities should implement.

Nice trail
Feb 2017
I really like this trail. I enjoy the view of the river. There are always multiple people on the trail and everyone is friendly. My only complaint is I wish it was longer for more mileage. I just make a larger loop a few times and run through uptown & the campus. There is a dog park near the trail.

A couple of friends and I enjoy walking the Greenway! Love being away from all the traffic. Only wish they had water fountains on occasion.
