Enjoyed a wine tasting and browsed the antique shop. The two ladies that provided the tasting were incredibly sweet and fun to chat with! We enjoyed our visit with them and found some great wines.

We were traveling through on our way to another winery in the area and decided to stop back by to try this again Even better the second time around! The first time was on a "Wine Hop" so they were very busy. This time it was just us and the lady at the bar went out of her way to inform us, serve us and make sure we had a very pleasurable experience. They have some very good wines (we brought home several bottles) and actually have close to a 50/50 selection of Dry/sweet so they have something for everyone. Nice old Building to and an Antique store attached to top it off. Definitely worth the trip!

This is not a classic winery set in a vineyard 1 it is a tasting room. It was reasonably priced - $8 for a tasting of 6 wines. They have several sweet fruit wines with flavors like blueberry and peach that don’t taste like wine and are good for novices. The reds are very young. Glad we stopped by but not a more classic experience.

Stopped in to sample their offerings. They offered both dry and fruit varietals. We opted for the dry. Unfortunately, they were out of 2 of their 3 reds. so we were limited to their whites and a Merlot. the Merlot was excellent, but we didn't care for the whites.

We stopped here to have a tasting prior to checking in at the Inn at Glen Alpine for a little weekend jaunt.

The wine was ok and the bartender was very pleasant. The room has character and we were comfortable. That said, it's nothing really special. OK to do during the weekend, and I'd even recommend it, but wouldn't be my first stop - just a stop along the way.

The antique store tacked on to the tasting room is cute and you can find some neat things there.

Service = polite and good.
Knowledge = read what's on the tasting card.
Quality = you can find the same at any average winery.
Atmosphere = pleasant and a good, quick stop along the way.

We were exploring the Catawba Valley for vineyards based on some internet research done by my wife. This was our first stop. We walked in and noticed a tasting counter to our right amidst a few rooms with antiques and old stuff. No one was at the counter. We were greeted by a woman who directed us to the antiques but nothing was mentioned about the wines. After a brief perusal of the antiques we walked by a rack with wines with the Lake James Winery label and some wine related merchandise. After a few more minutes of browsing we departed. We never saw anyone serving or tasting wine.

This place was very suspect looking from the moment we drove up. It looks like an abandoned building. The only thing that made me notice it was the flag they had out front or we would've driven right by it. They're not punctual to say the least so don't go at opening time. Give them at least an hour to arrive and get themselves organized. I'm not sure if they're not use to customers or having them wait outside in the parking lot is "normal "but I assumed they simply weren't interested in our business especially after they finally arrived and then locked the front door behind them. Do yourself a favor and head over to Silver Fork Winery like I did. They actually know how to run a business and maintain professional facility.

Stopped in here on a trip covering a few wineries in the area. The staff was friendly, and the wine was great. I would definitely return next time I am in the area. Had we arrived earlier in the day, I would have checked out the adjoining antiques store also.

Came here on our anniversary and walked to the winery from The Inn at Alpine Grove. Betty is one of the owners and along with her son were very knowledgeable and friendly hosts for the wine tasting. One of a growing number of NC boutique wineries, they don't actually grow their own grapes but produce very nice wines from NC vineyards. Reasonably priced picnic wines as well as several nice table wines. Worth the stop.
