Hard to find and the path has hardly been walked so the path has a lot of debris. The walk to the fall was still easy though and short. We were the only ones there which was kind of nice especially because there is not much parking.

Mooney Falls is a nice waterfall in two sections and is a very easy hike. It's about 3/4 mile past the trailhead for Big Laurel Falls on FR-67 and there is a sign at the trailhead. It's just a pull-off on the side of the gravel road, so not much parking availability. The trail heads down from the road and immediately splits - left goes to the upper section, a long cascade, and right goes to the lower main drop of about 20 feet. Both sections are really pretty and the total round trip hike is less than a half-mile. We visited around Memorial Day and the mountain laurel were blooming all around the falls.

Very short hike. Trail splits. Take both paths to see both the upper and lower Falls. As you are driving up the gravel road, look carefully on your right for the sign. It's placed up against the brush. I missed it the first time.

Beautiful hike with our toddler (had to piggy back ride him for parts of the hike) and in laws! Stunning waterfalls! Many other hikes and waterfalls on the way to Mooney Falls. My only complaint is, do NOT expect your phone GPS to take you the most direct route or even to the correct place. Internet address was totally wrong and took us to the center of a neighborhood in town! We had to stop and ask for directions. Would bring a paper map next time!

Right off the road. Go down the path and and the fork going left will lead you to the middle of the falls, the path to the right will lead you to the lower part for better pictures.
Very easy path with a small incline walking back up, but not too strenuous.

Loved the waterfalls. We even had a dog with us and we all did OK on the trail. Not crowded at all which makes it nice.

My daughter wanted to see this fall so bad beacuse it is the name of her bible coach. We did not know going to this would be so bad. Its a beautiful fall no doubt but getting to it was scary. It had rained all during out trip and this was a dirt road but because of the rain it was very muddy and we have a van. You needed a forwheel drive for this. No one was around and its in the middle of the woods.

Falls are right along the roadway but not visible from the road. No longer marked by the Forest Service. Short steep trail from road if you can find the trail head. Easy walk from Big Laurel Falls trail head

If you are near Standing Indian Campground or visiting Big Laurel Waterfalls this is a great add-on. The pull off parking is identified by orange tape wrapping a tree and will hold one or two vehicles. From Big Laurel Falls, continuing for .7 mile past Big Laurel Falls trailhead. A very short trail descends to Mooney Falls. Roadside parking available.

We initially could not find the trail head and the GPS info on sites was confusing. Best is to ask around or pick up some old fashioned map . Once there - the trail is relatively easy and very pleasant. The hike can be also combined with other area hikes like Albert Mountain or Big Laurel Falls and made into a pleasant day trip.
Park along the Forest Service road at the sign for the falls. The trail splits into lower and higher falls trail. The best view of the falls is actually from the lower falls trail
