We are staying in Franklin while RVing and looking for local venues to visit and found the Smokey Mountain Center for the Performing Arts. What a lovely theater that is easy to find, very well maintained and the volunteer staff that escorts you to your seats are the best. We saw The Malpas Bros. and they put on a great show of country music and some comedy skits and were very entertaining. This was such an enjoyable evening we have booked 2 additional venues while here and we will return every time we are in Franklin.

Beautiful theater, many excellent musical groups and a quaint hometown theatre group. Wife and I recently moved to this area and this Center was definitely one of the major selling points in our decision to purchase a home in the area. We enjoy the shows enough that we even joined as advanced members instead of buying a ticket or two as they come out. We’ve seen an outstanding comedian whose name escapes me. Saw Steven Curtis Chapman Christmas show, LeAnn Rimes and many others. We have tickets pending for the Newsboys & Mandisa and others we look forward to seeing. Definitely, highly recommend.

Parking, although free is an issue. Too small to accommodate a sellout crowd. The facility it self is very nice. Decorated for Christmas and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Acoustics were fine and lighting was great. Snacks, and drinks are available. The Sears are comfortable and the floor is angled to support good views of the stage. After the show, the parking lot is a diaster. No organization. One big free for all. People cutting through lanes ,and pedestrians walking to their cars made this a major challenge. Probably better to sit and let the crowd/lot thin out instead of preparing for battle in the parking lot.

In the 4 years that I have lived in the surrounding area, I am amazed at how lucky we are to have such an amazing Center for the Performing Arts! I go to about 5-6 shows and concerts a year. We have been there for Gospel Concerts, Tribute Band Concerts, Comedians, Major / Award Winning Artists. The great thing about this place is they offer a variety of things that singles, couples, families, and children can attend. There is not a bad seat in the place, the sound is great, parking is great and they offer a concession service. The restroom facilities are very clean and kept up. If you have the opportunity to see a show here you will not be disappointed. Check it out!

We always have a great time at the Smoky Mountain Center; you can’t get a bad seat & always begins on time! Every season seems to expand performances to reach different audiences & an occasional family movie night is a great community event! We are grateful to have this place in our little town to celebrate the arts!

During a recent visit, we went to a Bluegrass/Mountain Music show which was excellent. The seats are comfortable and the view unobstructed. Great sound system too! Highly recommended.
