Lovely Light House and Public Park
Sep 2021
Visiting Edenton is lovely with this lovely public park that has picnic tables and Grills and a large children's playground, and a pier to stroll on or sit on the bench on.

There are lots of outdoor play equipment for the little ones, and plenty of seats for everyone. Lovely view of the bay!

Nice harbor area
May 2021 • Couples
Nice place for a stroll, a run. Well equipped playground encircled by a fence.
We wanted to rent kayaks but the signage was not great. We finally found an employee who told us where to go - not near the collection of kayaks.
Lighthouse was not open.
Edenton is a cute city, love the Main Street and I know covid probably took it’s toll but the area needs some love.

Walk along the Water.
May 2021
What a beautiful park to take the children to play and to walk along the waterway. Take time to slow down, sit on a bench and enjoy an area that will take you back in time.

Take the tour.
Dec 2019
What a romantic little lighthouse. Our tour guide was not only knowledable but also had a sense of humor and told stories of former inhabitants. Don't forget to take pictures at sundown, just too pretty to pass up.

Nice little park
Sep 2019
This is a place that provides shade, some places to sit, a restroom, a playground, and a great view of water and the lighthouse. You are only limited by your imagination here. If you're with a group, use a bandanna and play tag. If you're with you're family, same! Have a picnic. Watch the boats go by. Make up a story about the people you see. It's laid back, the folks are real nice, and there's several places to eat nearby within walking distance. Free parking too! We were there to walk on the pier, see the boats, see the lighthouse. It was wonderful.

Perfect place to rest and contemplate life
Oct 2019
The park is in a beautiful waterfront location. There are swings, etc for children to work off some energy while parents rest on the park benches and plan the next activity. The park is located within walking distance of the historic homes and quaint shops uptown. The Cupola House and the Lighthouse are adjacent to the park.

Not much to do
Oct 2019 • Family
There's mot much to do, and very little restaurants to eat at. There is also an entire shopping center that's empty. The only grocery store was slammed packed full of people, but I ended up leaving because they didn't have what I wanted anyways. The waterfront was okay, if you look past the trash that's in it. We didn't get to enjoy the park much because of the thugs that were hanging around and being loud. I did love the book store, and the lighthouse, but that was it. There are much better towns to stop at and stay.

Total Southern Charm
Aug 2019
Edenton was an unexpected treat. Great place to visit for 2-4 days. We were able to see most of the Historic Sites run by the state in one day. You need to get a schedule with map at he Welcome Center of the Barker House. Each site is open at different times of day. You can walk everywhere but we enjoyed riding our bikes because there are so many gorgeous Colonial and Victorian homes. Queen Anne Park is the most central location to park and start your tour. Don't miss the Chowan Courthouse, Cupola House, Iredell House, Roanoke River lighthouse, and Barker House. Our very favorite part was going on the Duffy boat " Liber-tea". It is run by a retired navy man ( I think his name was Mark) and he takes you on an hour tour along the city edge and tells a little history and a little fun facts. You can go in the Barker House and get information on his schedule. It was about $18/ person and well worth it.
