Great track but could be in better shape

Played mid-April 2016, greens were nice and very fast and the whole course was pretty dry and firm. Not sure if this was a result of a dry winter or not. Pace of play was... read more

I may be biased because I am a Dukie, but this is a great track. Just an all around fantastic course. While I agree with some of the other reviews that you really do need to hit straight on this course, I would disagree that a high handicapper can't have fun here. I am not a great golfer but I... Played mid-April 2016, greens were nice and very fast and the whole course was pretty dry and firm. Not sure if this was a result of a dry winter or not. Pace of play was painfully slow on a Saturday, the cart guy was grouchy but everyone else was cool. Like everything at Duke, you'll be paying for the experience.... More

I hadn't played here for years, but was on a trip recently , made a tee time and decided to play on Saturday afternoon w my wife. The course was in embarrassing...if not abominable...condition. I have seen better cow pastures. There is no way they should be charging what they do.....PLUS, the course must be overbooking its tee times, as... More

The Course was exceptional from the time we arrived to the very end. Staff suddenly appeared at the car with a cart, gave course advice on conditions and even checked in during the round. The course was exceptional in every sense of the word. We played the week before a tournament and its presentation, condition and greens gave an indication... More

Recently played the Duke University Golf Club. It was relatively nice afternoon. The course is in good condition. Unfortunately, played behind some slow players. Not usually a problem, but we struggling to get the round in by dark. Mentioned to starter after 9 and he didn't offer any help. Would play again though

This is a beautiful and challenging course but very fair and the layout compliments the surroundings. The greens run fast, especially those baking in the sun all day but not dried out and the many sloped fairways are also well maintained giving golfers of every skill level a chance to score well, as long as you stay in or close... This is a nice course, on the higher end price wise the staff are fantastic and the amenities are very nice. Fun course, plays fair and I like southern pines more than northern pines for finding balls! The Pros; Staff from the pro shop checking in to the cart folks at the end were superb, friendly and helpful. The Course... More

Duke was the final stop on our North Carolina golf trip, driving over from the Pinehurst area that morning. Arrived early and did a quick tour across the street of some of the athletic facilities, including a stop in Cameron Indoor Arena. Once over to the course, the entire staff was very cordial and helpful. Very nice practice facility available... More

Returned after a absence of many years, hoping to find the same great course I had played. Unfortunately the fairways are in tough shape. We were told it was winter kill. This course is beautiful but with the shape of the fairways, it left something to be desired. A bit costly. Hotel/grounds are very nice.

Our foursome play this course the week of April 20th and the conditions were deplorable. The ninth hole, which was the 18th hole when we played, literally did not have grass on the fairway from the tee box to the green. I will mention that the greens were in above average shape. The organization that runs this place should be... More
