Nothing around this lake from the park except a boat ramp and dock. Plenty of parking for trucks/trailers. Did see one picnic table by the parking area.

Board walk is only two years old. Great for all ages to enjoy. Takes you out to the full view of the lake. Good fishing area.

Nice place to take the family for a day outing. Stop by to see Somerset Place a State Historic Site, definitely worth taking the tour.

Located inside Pettigrew State Park. It is a beautiful clear shallow lake. Perfect place to take the kids swimming.

I drove for what seemed like hours and could not find beach access from a paved road on the north side of the lake.

Drove down to the boat ramp for a look at the lake while at Pettigrew State Park. Some of the swans were still there. What a view! Took some pictures. There is a dock for fishing and the boat ramp is concrete. There is a picnic area close by the boat ramp also and restrooms at the State Park.

A nice back roads drive of 3.5 hours (181 miles ) No traffic just had to slow down for towns. Beautiful lake that is big and plenty of room for power boats, jet skis, water skiing and lots of fishing. What is truly amazing is that the average depth of the lake is about 4 feet. I was able to... More

Lake Phelps is a beautiful pocosin lake in eastern North Carolina. There is a public boat landing at the State Park. The lake is a shallow clear water lake that is great for fishing and swimming.
