Do NOT go on the tour if you are pregnant. They had told me it would not be too rough or bouncy and I was very wrongly misguided. It is a rough ride. For your sake and the sake of the baby do not risk for this tour.

If you have a 4X4 or SUV I highly recommend experieincing this beach! Air down your tires to be on the safe side. Great surf fishing. We didn't see the horses.

We enjoyed walking to the tops of some of the dunes to get better views, and especially enjoyed seeing the feral horses, which are Banker Spanish Mustangs. I look forward to more trips to the area.

The beach is a road. Seriously, go to Google Maps you'll see that the beach access ramp and Route 12 is a junction. Technically the road continues on the beach in order to get to the northern areas. I suppose it is a 4 lane road at low tide and a 2 lane road at high tide. I drove on... More

This was our second trip to Corova. We arrived before hurricane Mathew and found a lot of flooding from the previous hurricane. After Mathew it was mass flooding and inaccessible even with a four wheel vehicle. After about 3 days the beach was accessible just not the homes and sand streets. The beach is secluded and you can find many... More

Drove onto the 4X4 beach in Carova hoping to see some of the famous wild horses. It was a fun experience just driving up the beach. Didn't see any horses on the beach, so we ventured into the area where the homes are and stumbled upon Carova Beach Park, a nice little park with restroom facilities. There we spotted some... More

This is a great beach that is well-maintained and not over crowded. There are some public access points that make it easier to visit; however, be aware that there are staircases with quite a few steps to get to the beach. A lifeguard patrols the area on a four wheeler; posting warnings for rip currents when necessary. The water and... More
