You don't want to miss this park. It has a walking trail, which gives you a good amount of exercise, and it is so pretty, you will want to do it more than once. For me, the combination of varied lake views, woodland setting, and people-watching make this one of my favorite places on earth. It's also loaded with diversity--all types of ages, couples, families, ethnicities, and lots and lots of dogs and their proud parents. It has a very safe feeling, and the park is well maintained. Nearby Ramsey Creek Park is just across the water and worth the three minute drive to visit there too, especially around sunset.

We were in Huntersville, NC for the weekend, and the big attraction is the Lake Norman, which is a very huge Lake with much to see and do and enjoy all around it. The Lake runs through many areas, so you can see it from more than one Town that it surrounds in the areas.

Our visit was at the Marina for a moment to watch people put their Boats into the Lake, and then we drove around to another side and explored the Jetton Park of the Lake, which has a small Beach, and Picnic areas both inside and a Pavilion and a kid's playground and walking paths, and spots to relax and take in the scenic view of the Lake. We did not get to see all that we could on one visit to this huge Lake, but what we saw with the Jetton Park was so very nice and enjoyable and clean and well kept property, which also includes clean Restrooms for the public.

We recommend this attraction of the Lake Norman, and also other great attractions in the area of Huntersville, NC, where there are plenty of great places to eat and rest and play.

Jetton Park is located in Cornelius on Lake Norman. It's kind of a hidden gem of a park. There are dozens of picnic areas some very private and most overlook the lake. All have grills and picnic tables. There is a new(ish) play area for kids with a convenient bathroom. There are about 8 tennis courts and they offer tennis lessons. There is a place to rent bikes, too. On the far end of the park, there is a sandy beach which is great for relaxing and enjoying the sunset but there is no swimming. My favorite thing about Jetton is a 4.5 mile, paved walking pah. It is shaded so it's perfect to there in the summer. It's not too hilly but not flat either. Perfect for walkers, dog walkers, rollerbladers, bikers, etc. I think you have to pay to park on the weekends before 5pm. I've never had to pay during weekdays. In the morning there are lots of walkers but I wouldn't walk there solo. Well, I wouldn't walk in any nature park solo.

During our stay at Lake Norman we went to see Jetton Park to see if we can do some swimming, relaxation and maybe a bit of walking. The only possible pass time was walking. Relaxation is a bit difficult with motor boats heard from various directions. Swimming is banned on the small beach in the park, but if you have a boat you can swim just 10 - 20 m away from the shore! There is no explanation as to why there is no swimming permitted just big signs standing on the beach.

Good to walk dog or kids on wide asphalt paths, saw a few wheelchair so guess it is accessible. Spoiled by noisy picnic groups with music blaring, however lots of seating for picnics or just lake viewing, so you can probbaly find a quiet spot. Small beach 'no swimming' signs, but some people were paddling not sure if this is safe or not. Not a very large loop for walking, probably less than 1.5 miles, but OK for poddle.

Over the 15+ years we have lived in Cornelius, we visited Jetton Park countless times, usually to enjoy a leisurely stroll around it's 1.25 mile paved trail. What's best about it is the changing view from lake to wood ... and the fact that's it's very nicely shaded for the entire course. There are numerous places to stop and sit and enjoy the views. Other than a few weekend visits, we've never had to pay since the station is rarely staffed.

I am 87 and wanted to visit his park and found that 1/2 of the town was named Jetton something, apt, place, cove, shopping center, among others. The town seemed to be a nice place. I wish that we could have spent more time there. Visit this city and pronounce Jetton, (baton)

Excellent place to take a long walk. I go here with my dog often. They have some benches set up along the trails. It's nice to sit and take a break and enjoy the lake. It's very people and dog friendly. I often recommend this park to my out of state clients relocating here. Always a hit! :-)
