As a native of Lake Norman I can tell you its a true Lake Lifestyle of urban professionals. As the suburb of Charlotte we are the best place to live and play after working in the city! Once you're hooked there's no going back with a doable commute from downtown. Climate is mild and the Sun is shining! Affordable lake... More

For a small town, this visitor's center is very nice. The customer service agents are very helpful and pleasant. The have tons of brochures on the area and the attractions, great soveniers and the Chamber of Commerce is right there on site!

Lovely place, the sand bar is crazy, but around the lake is quiet and peace. Nice warm water for swimming. The sad think is, that there are no good public beaches, just one which is always full of people.

First time coming to this area and looking to relocate from NJ. So what better place to visit we thought. So much information on the entire state of NC and Donna and Joan were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Left with lots of stuff!! Southern hospitality indeed!

We visited here for an afternoon. There are a lot of activities to do for all members of the family. We saw people out on different boats on the lake by the visitor centre. There is a large viewing deck outside the visitor centre where you can look out onto part of the lake. We saw there was a camping... More

We love going too Ramsay Creek park calm cove. We love to kayak and swim there. Picnicking there is comfortable. We launched a pontoon boat there. Convenient.

In town from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and was brought to the lake with family who live in the area. Blown away on how nice a lake could be with such a variety of things to do. Swim, fish or enjoy the many type of boating options that are available. Don't have a boat? No problem...rent one! You can rent different... More

It is difficult to get on the lake unless you know someone who lives on it or has a boat docked. Certainly one can rent a boat or find a boat launch. Nice restaurants that allow one to pull boat up, get off for drinks and grub, and then get back on. Big lake that is busy on weekends though.... More

Lots of fancy beautiful homes surround this lake and the surrounding community appears to live more on the high end but it's still a lovely place to visit. As a family travelling through and looking for an interesting place to stop and spend a day, Lake Norman was definitely a place worth seeing but probably wouldn't come back to this... More

My husband and I stopped by the Lake Norman area on our way home to Syracuse with our sea doos. The lake is absolutely gorgeous and the homes are amazing. We spent the day exploring the lake and stopped for lunch at a local marina/restaurant. We had a really good time and definitely will be back.
