GWL staff is not helpful at all! They could not even tell me where my room was, or the elevator. I kept being directed down dead end hallways while pushing a heavy luggage cart. The last time that I asked I was directed to out an external door and re-enter elsewhere. Due to the 100 degree heat and items falling from my cart in the uneven parking lot, coupled with my own hypertension, I actually became dizzy and collapsed by the main entrance door. While other guests rushed to see if I was ok, the staff ignored me and walked right by! I’m still here now, so if I find a positive with this staff I will amend my review, but it looks like this might be the worst $1700 experience that I have ever had.

So, we attempted to plan a family vacation, we contacted Great Wolf Lodge Water Park & asked about the rates so that each family member would have an opportunity to manage their budget for the weekend. We were given a quote of $50 half a day and $70 dollars for a full day per adult. Once we arrived, the amount per adult was $150.00 for any age. We were unable to attend the Great Wolf Lodge that weekend. I am not certain that I would want to return at this point.

While the water park and amenities are nice but overpriced the real problems arise when you check out. We left a mobile charger in our room by accident and a hour after we checked out we started the run around game trying to get someone to answer us so we drove back to the lodge and went in to speak to someone and they said they can’t send anyone to look in the room or in lost and found, we could only submit a online forum to which you can have “said” items shipped at your expense “IF” they find them.I just find it funny they can do anything fast that cost you money but if it’s for free or to help you without benefits for them then you get a excuse and a run around. Remember I drove back to avoid this and save both time and money but that was too much for them about like cleaning under the mattress or couch cushions. #ivealreadypaidsonobodycares

6 adults, 3 kids, ages 2.5, 5.5, and 5.5
Pros:
Nice water park activities
Seemed clean
Food was decent, although a bit pricey
Life jackets and towels available for no extra cost
Cons:
Expensive (duh)
Water was too cold - my kids were shivering and had blue lips at some points
No warning bell for the big bucket that dumps water
Kiddie pool was a little too baby-ish

The great parts: We went for one night for our daughter’s 5th birthday and she had an absolute blast! Overall, we had a great time and will be back. The indoor parts of the water park were open and operating, it was clean and there were plenty of places to sit. The pizza to-go restaurant was really good and efficient, and we had a lovely dinner at Wolf Fired Grille. The clock tower show, story time and dance party were a fantastic end to the night. MagiQuest was really fun and mostly operational. Staff was very friendly and attentive, room was clean and all appliances worked. The arcade was great; everything was in working order and really fun games.
The not-so-great parts: Due to short staffing, a lot of the dining options were closed and wait times for food were astronomical (up to an hour!) We had purchased the Platinum Dining Package which seemed like a waste of money since we had very limited options. We realize they can’t help the staffing issue; however, there should have been some sort of price decrease for this (offering lower room rates or lower priced food etc). If staging shortage continues, they should consider capping the amount of reservations allowed. The breakfast buffet was like a typical continental breakfast you would get but not very tasty options; yet it was $14 per person which is way overpriced for what it was. The Buckets restaurant inside the water park was an hour wait for food and only one cook - the food was horrible and overpriced. The only good food was in Wolf Fired Grille and it was closed until 5pm every day. The basic birthday package wasn’t worth the extra money. I would have rather brought my own decorations - you’re mostly paying for the “free tokens” to the arcade and one scoop of ice cream and a generic bday card.
Overall, I was just happy that my daughter had a great birthday and a lot of our grievances with the place didn’t faze her at all; which is why I still gave 4 out of 5 stars.

Ask a lot of questions. Too many hidden charges. We booked for July 9 - 11 for a nice weekend with grandkids. Purchased the wolf pass for all. A child took my grandsons off his neck and great wolf would not replace. Yes we were with him, was helping my granddaughter bowl. Charged for beach towels for not turning them in. We had out own beach towels. Charged double for food. I ask for print out at check out or I would never have known. Acted shocked when I ask for printout. My granddaughter was bitten by either a spider or a bug. It is a beautiful place and great on paper but the experience is not worth the 750 per night. They need to be upfront not try to hide charges.

Lack of open activities (rope course, different closed slides and areas of the waterpark, food places close early with no warning, few options for some-what healthy food). Rude and overly aggressive front desk “manager” who eventually provided a paltry 25% off (only about $82) after I reciprocated with calling him on his ride behavior. Tiny room size, lack offerings and expensive activities (when open) ensure that this “vacation” destination is destined for failure. Front desk manager blamed most issues on the lack of workers.

I wanted to check in early but your policy is 4pm but allowed my family and I to enter the water park at 1pm . So 5pm comes and my room wasn’t ready by then my husband and kids were ready to leave the park to shower get dressed and go eat. No one could tell me when my room would be ready or even offered another room,so I ended up returning our wristbands to receive a refund which I am currently waiting 3-5 business days for. Do better with the alcoholic drinks there was absolutely not enough alcohol in the drinks and were made entirely too sweet. Prices were a little high to me for a kid’s cheeseburger meal. Make sure you have enough staff to run your business properly. We really wanted to enjoy the full Great Wolf Lodge experience and all the amenities you had to offer but wasn’t able to. We lived in Concord,NC for years and have never been here before and when we do my kids have to be disappointed. I really wonder how long we would have had to wait for a room if I stayed. I’m also glad that I didn’t come from out of town cause that would have been even worse than this. I also felt rooms were available for everyone else who wasn’t black and who were from out of town got their rooms and I didn’t . I say that because a woman who I was talking to in line that was in front of me was white and also was waiting for her room to be ready as long as I was waiting and she got hers and I didn’t. Do better.

Our experience here was AWFUL!!! The promotional rate that was advertised was not honored, even though it was within the designated date range. After inputting the promotional code online, there was no rate discount at all from the original cost. They refused to even honor a military discount, which to me is unacceptable and a direct reflection of how this company feels about their paying customers.
There was exactly ONE place open that served alcohol in the entire hotel with only one bartender. It was obvious he was struggling and had no help as his hands were literally shaking and spilled half of our drinks when he was giving them to us. I’m a long time veteran of the food and beverage industry and am familiar with NC laws regarding liquor pours, and ours were way under but we were charged full price. We also purchased the refillable timblers for our kids, with the intention of using them for drinks and Icees. Conveniently, the only icee machine was “down for the day” the following morning.
Fast forward to the morning: the coffee pot in my room did not work and was never replaced after requesting one from the front desk. The only outlet to serve coffee was closed due to a “maintenance issue,” and the only option to serve breakfast (which we had prepaid for) did not open until 8am. It took us well over 20 minutes to get seated and we were forced to wait outside of the restaurant in a large crowd of people. It was clear and apparent that there were clean and empty tables, as well as some waiting to be cleared. I watched several of the wait staff walk by without removing so much as a single plate. Once finally seated, our server at breakfast never cleared our plates (it was a buffet) and never offered to refill our waters. And to top off, they were serving food off the buffet that was barely above room temperature. The French toast tasted like it had been out all morning, and the grits weren’t even warm enough to remotely melt the cheese I got on them.
Once we made it though breakfast, we headed down to the water park. To say the lifeguards were RUDE would be a MASSIVE understatement. I could not believe the way they were treating guests and speaking to children. It was enough for me to say something to one as she scolded a child for getting on his tube wrong, even though she offered no assistance or explanation of how to do so properly. He couldn’t have been any older than 7. Truthfully, I don’t have much better feedback for the people working in the other food and beverage outlets either. I ordered a salad for lunch which I was charged $8.99 for. I attached a photo of what they considered adequate. I understand hotel prices are usually increased but this was RIDICULOUS!
I can’t believe I spent as much money at this place as I did and had a better experiences at an interstate Motel. I will truly never go there again!

I was there at the winter time. I tough it was very overpriced . U have to live the room after U still can use the pool but U have to pay for a locker . I need at 2 locker . The food is not included not even a breakfast. U pay separate for everything . Probably the summer time is nicer because there is a outside facility. The pool I think open till 10 pm . Good luck . Hope U have a better time then I did .
