About
Located just a short drive from the Outer Banks beaches! Pocosin Arts' focus is on craft education. We offer workshops year around in a variety of media including clay, metals, fibers, mixed media, wood, painting, drawing and more. Our studios and lodge are located by the unspoiled beauty of the Scuppernong River and Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Our location provides a perfect blend of natural beauty and small-town hospitality. It is a great place to learn something new, meet new friends, hike, kayak and be inspired.

Poised for Craft School Greatness
Dec 2014 • Friends
This admittedly small organization is on the brink of joining great American craft schools like Arrowmont, Penland and Haystack. I predict it will become as great of a draw as the older schools. Whether you want to learn metal smithing, ceramics or other crafts, this is the best place to start. And don't forget their annual Cabin Fever Reliever, a four day extravaganza of workshops. I've been twice and highly recommend attending!

Great weekend at Pocosin Arts learning clay techniques and information from Eric. Also a wonderful meal at Old Salt Saturday night.

Fantastic all round teaching venue
Nov 2014 • Family
Manned by a young, energetic, talented group, this center of teaching fills a need to expand the local area crafts awareness. We have visited and also purchased the unique items that are for sale in the show room across the front of the studio. With many tools at the teacher's disposal, a variety of craft specialties can be taught, including pottery, woodwork, metalwork & many other unique crafts/arts.

Beautiful Fall Dayin Columbia,N.C.
Nov 2012 • Couples
The Scuppernong River Interpretive Boardwalk is a beautiful walk around the river. The Museum on the location with a rest area is quite good. On the walk thru downtown on a Sat. was a great disappointment--in that the Pocosin Arts Folk School & Store was closed, along with the Columbia Theater Cultural Resources Center, and in a nut shell nothing of interest is open on Sat. "Mike's Restaurant", and the Winery Shop selling the local wines and offering tastings the only place we found open. So except for those two places on a Sat. just keep driving on to your beach destination.
