My husband, myself and our 13-year-old daughter did the 2 1/2 hour horseback riding trip to the falls. It is a very scenic and serene ride. It is very gradual pace. Our guide however was rather quiet and did not speak much. But if you're looking for peace and a beautiful environment this would be a good choice. Our only... More

Four of us, ages 13-75, took the 2 1/2 hour ride to the falls. The trail through the woods is varied; the hills are not dangerously steep; most of the time we were in the shade. On reaching the falls area, we dismounted and walked a short distance to see the falls. (A mounting platform is available at this stop.)... More

We took the 2 1/2 hour ride to the waterfall. Dalton was her guide and he did a great job. They were very organized in getting the trip going, quickly matching horses with the riders and lining the horses according to their styles. It was a picturesque ride along the side of the mountain with the creek meandering alongside the... More

We took our niece and friend riding. They are from Florida and enjoyed the ride to the waterfall. The staff were very helpful.

My 16 year old son & I enjoyed our 1 hour ride. I would like to go back in the future to take the 2 & 1/2 hour ride to be able to go to the water fall. I would recommend this to friends.

This was mine and my son's first horseback riding trip and we had a fabulous time. Rob was our guide and he did an awesome job with our group! I would recommend this stable for a beginner or experienced rider! Looking forward to coming back next year!

We took out five year old son and had a wonderful family adventure at Smokemont Riding Stables. Owner Jason Cook and his guides were wonderful in making us feel comfortable with our five year old riding a horse for the first time. We did the 2.5 hour ride and my son had no problems at all. Great southern hospitality and... More

After riding at all the stables from Bryson City to Asheville, Smokemont is the only riding stable I want to keep coming back to. I've been riding horses my whole life, and I enjoy Smokemont because it's easy to see that their horses are healthy and taken care of. As long as every one listens and follows the guides instruction... More
