We were on a road trip from Florida and found Smokemont by chance. We are inexperienced riders and slightly nervous about the trip. The staff was amazing and the horses are great and easy going. I fell in love with mine, Poco. We did the 2.5 hr waterfall ride up the mountain and the views were beautiful. I highly recommend... More

We had the best time riding at Smokemont! Dalton led us on a one-hour ride through the mountains. Our entire family had a great time (our older kids, ages 6 and 8, rode horses, while our 2-year old enjoyed the wagon ride with grandparents). We would definitely ride with Smokemont again!! Best experience ever!!

We had 2 adults and 2 teen daughters. We took the 1 hour ride. We had a very nice young man (Dillon) as our guide. He was full of interesting information about the trail and the Cherokee area. We loved that we rode through the river and a tunnel. So much fun! Will do again.

My family was on a week long vacation in the area and looking for things to do. I picked up a pamphlet at the hote from Smokemont Riding Stables and was surprised to see our 6 yr old could take a horseback ride. The guide and other employees were very nice and gave us a great 1-hour trail ride. We... More

We did the 2.5 hour waterfall ride starting at 9:00am. Two adults and three children. The facility was clean and well maintained. The staff were courteous, professionally dressed and extremely pleasant. The horses were well kept and very trail worthy. The ride was very comfortable and the waterfall at the end was great. A must do if in or around... More

We went on the 1 hr ride yesterday at 10am. Our guide was great ( sorry can't remember his name ). I was with my husband and grandson ( a novice rider) and we all enjoyed the ride. I would highly recommend this adventure

I was there with my son and granddaughter and we all enjoyed the hour-long ride very much. The horses were very well behaved and the guide, Darius, was excellent. He was knowledgeable and very patient with an extremely talkative five year old. We will be back and hope to have time to take the longer, waterfall tour.

My husband, myself and our 13-year-old daughter did the 2 1/2 hour horseback riding trip to the falls. It is a very scenic and serene ride. It is very gradual pace. Our guide however was rather quiet and did not speak much. But if you're looking for peace and a beautiful environment this would be a good choice. Our only... More

Four of us, ages 13-75, took the 2 1/2 hour ride to the falls. The trail through the woods is varied; the hills are not dangerously steep; most of the time we were in the shade. On reaching the falls area, we dismounted and walked a short distance to see the falls. (A mounting platform is available at this stop.)... More

We took the 2 1/2 hour ride to the waterfall. Dalton was her guide and he did a great job. They were very organized in getting the trip going, quickly matching horses with the riders and lining the horses according to their styles. It was a picturesque ride along the side of the mountain with the creek meandering alongside the... More
