This was my first escape room experience, but it won't be my last! Went with a group of 12-14 year olds and some parents. There were so many details that came together that we were still talking about it the next day. They even had a side challenge that some of the group completed. The staff was helpful and very thorough. We did the Aztec room and look forward to the chance to do it again!

Wonderful hospitality provided by Escape Kings for our twins 11th bday party. The entire group of boys and their Dads enjoyed themselves immensely. The owners are hands on and really down to earth. Would recommend to everyone.

We visited on a Saturday morning and we were very pleased with our escape room experience at Escape Kings. My husband and I and our 8 year old son completed the Kings Quest room. It was just hard enough to keep us on our toes, but we were still able to complete it. My son loved it because he was able to complete some of the clues and really participate. We would definitely recommend Escape Kings.

We are so glad your family had a great time at Escape Kings! Kings Quest is a great room to introduce kids to escape rooms. It is only 45 minutes, and has lots of items for the kids to explore. It is still challenging, but the game master can help, if needed. Please come visit us again soon!

We were the first customers, outside of friends and family, that they had do their rooms. We definitely enjoyed the room and the gameplay. They had some innovations that we had not seen before in terms of how to complete the room. The room they had open, Aztec ruins, was not super immersive in terms of theme, but we can see what's coming down the road and have full faith that there will be some awesome rooms to come out of these guys. Can't wait to see their biohazard rooms in a few weeks! Best of luck guys!

We took my 9 year old and 11 year old nieces to the King Arthur room and they had a ball! We solved the room and they were a huge part of the process. Well themed. Great puzzles. And a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend. Even my 4 month old liked it!

Thank you for bringing your family to do our Kings Quest room! This is a great room for younger kids to be introduced to escape rooms. It is 45 minutes, and the kids can really get involved. There are lots of clues to find and puzzles to solve. If you need help, you can also ask the game master. Please come visit us again soon!

Thank you for visiting Escape Kings for a team building experience! Watching your experience in fast time is always a lot of fun. You can see how everyone interacted and how many times you asked for clues. The music makes it funny, too. We hope to see you again soon!

My wife and I took our two boys (9 & 12) here for something new and it was great. Very fun and challenging room but not too hard. Staff were nice, helped us with clues just when needed and made us all feel very comfortable snd welcome. They really understand this stuff and the way out kids minds work. Highly recommended!

We are so glad you had tons of fun with your family at Escape Kings! We love when families work together and communicate. Our rooms are challenging, but also a lot of fun for all ages. We want you to be challenged, but not frustrated. The game master will provide help, but only if you request it.
We are a family owned business, and we make sure all our customers have a great escape room experience. We are also parents, so we want families to work together and have a memorable time. We hope to see you again soon!

We went on valentine''s day and had a fun experience. We made it out. However there are couple things I didn't enjoy as much.
1. The room was too small for 10 people, really crowded. You really don't need this many people in order to solve the puzzles, in fact, having too many people in there prevents you from finding the clue.
2. It was hard to tell what is going on when people were discussing stuff in their own small group and won't share the clue, it probably depends on the group they put you with and not something they could control. (but again allow less people in at the same time would help).
3. I went to other escape rooms before and I didn't expect it to be literally just one room. The other places I went have rooms connected to each other that allow you to solve couple puzzles to get through the door or open the path to another room, which provide a feeling of middle accomplishments.
4. I wish the puzzles are more structured and connected. (again 3 would help)
Three stars for the super nice and friendly staff and the effort put in to making the room.

Thank you for the review and passing along the feedback! While you had fun and appreciated our energy here at Escape Kings to create our own rooms, we do want to make sure we addressed the things mentioned that could be improved in the experience.
Since then, we did expand greatly here with having multi-room escapes now and the ability to work in smaller teams too with some rooms created for 2 - 6 people total.
We have also worked very hard to not pair couples with groups of strangers. The Valentine's Day in 2016 was a learning lesson for us as we had been open just a month then and thought having a couple's day would be nice. Afterwards in 2016, we realized that a bunch of couples that do not know each other at all will most often lead to a less than ideal team. As escape room players ourselves with doing now over 100+ rooms since 2014, we definitely enjoy doing the experiences with people we know and not random people that just met who may not want to work together as a team. As a result, we have continued leading and getting great feedback in not having random people joining together. Thanks for helping us get to that decision in 2016 and growing tremendously!
As for the puzzles, we keep innovating with unique puzzles. Aztec is a highly popular room with being the only open game play in Charlotte with having multiple paths to escape and several parallel puzzles. It is a little more difficult for people who play a bunch of rooms since it is not a linear design which makes it unique and people who complete it see how cool it is to do something in parallel and multiple paths.
We love making people smile and happy. Feel free to come back anytime!
Thanks again!

I didn't know what to expect since it was my first time, but I had such a good time I can't wait to do it again. It was a real challenge and a lot of laughs as we raced the clock to find the clues and solve the puzzles. Not just a rainy day activity--this is an ANY day activity! Definitely having my 14 year old's birthday party here this year. Friendly staff and very cool props in the game rooms.

Thank you for your feedback! We are glad you had a blast with the group in the Biohazard room.
It was awesome to see the laughing with the group in the room and all the teamwork to complete the room in time. Biohazard is definitely a challenging room and well, great work in getting out with team.
We look forward to seeing you again and will gladly host birthday parties. We have several coming up and will personalize the party for group.

We will be visiting Charlotte and would love to do this. We have a family of 6 including a 2 yr old. Can he be in the room with us?
Written June 21, 2018
Hi Nolafamily,
Thank you for contacting us. For kids under 7, we do have the game room to watch the room for free on 250 inch screens. In the game room, younger ones with a guardian can see and hear the group with still being involved. For safety purposes, no one under 7 is permitted inside the escape rooms.
Thanks,
Paulette

Could we go as a couple or do you need a group of people?
Written February 28, 2018
Hi Crystal,
Thank you for the question. We do offer video gaming for 1 or 2 people. For our escape rooms, they are designed for groups as that is our focus for the rooms we design to help encourage teamwork and everyone working together as a team.
So, would need more than 2 people to do our experiences as we designed for groups. It is fun to do with the family, multiple couples or as a group.
Thanks,
Paulette Manis

Why does your website say you're open until 10pm and I came there and it was closed at 7:30pm
Written February 8, 2017
Thanks for the question. We are open as far as taking calls until 10pm each day. On Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter months (January - March), we do private events only that are booked in advance.
We do require advanced booking for all days and do not take walk-ins.
Written February 11, 2017
Do you have to book in advance? Is there a minimum number of people you need or can you put us with another group?
Written July 20, 2016
Yes, reservations are required in advance. Depending on how busy we are, you can sometimes reserve for that day. The minimum for the experience is 4 people. If there is enough room with another group and they don't request a private experience, you can be paired with another group.
Written July 27, 2016
Hi Sdk44,
Thank you for the question. For our rooms, pricing is $25 per person with discounts for children and military. We also offer group rates and can do customized packages for parties and corporate events.
Feel free to book online or call us if you want to do a customized experience.
Thanks,
EK
