The Romare Bearden Park in downtown Charlotte is a fitting tribute to the African-American artist. It's well maintained, the sculptures are great and there's a section for children. There are also kiosks and plaques that provide background on the artist.

This park is where the ACC Fan Fest was held and it was the perfect spot for it. The park is close to the baseball and football stadiums and there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Would love to come here on a regular day and hang out.

We had a wedding here on April 11th and it was beautiful. Almost feel as if you are in another city. The park is clean, well maintained and the city personnel were very helpful in getting everything set up. Wonderful for wedding pictures too.

We went to this well advertised attraction. Admittedly it was Thanksgiving afternoon, but it was advertised to be open then. There were only a few vendors and little to eat. They advertised that it would be like a German Christmas village with vendors in wooden huts. They were all in white rental tents. As one lady said to us, "For as much as this was advertised, this is the biggest nothing I have seen." Maybe they will get better as the season progresses, but we will not waste our time to go back.

I was visiting Charlotte, and the first place I stopped was this park. It was a great spring day in March, and I strolled around taking photos of the artwork, waterfall, flowers and people that were enjoying the park. There are also several restaurants that are next to the park and you can sit outside and enjoy a view of the park while you're dining. This was a nice place to spend a bit of time relaxing and enjoying the outdoors and views.

Yes, in Charlotte, it's officially Uptown (vs. Downtown). Romare Bearden Park is named in honor of a Charlotte native, Romare Bearden. The park is surrounded by apartments, condos, and office buildings. It is a 5-minute walk from Bank of America Stadium and across the street from the BB&T Ballpark, home of the Charlotte Knights. BTW, Parks & Recreation sponsors free summer jazz concerts with big-name artists!

Beautiful park with many festivals for adults and children. Close to the stadiums. A lot of prom pictures in the gardens as well as wedding pictures, ball fields, Italian ice cream, concerts. Beautiful flowers, safe site.

Water features to cool off, cute musical activities for little kids. Nice stop to see, with beautiful plants. Large waterfall where kids can get soaked- bring a change of clothes if you plan to go somewhere after.

This park is in a great location with an open area for kids to run free. However, there are lots of dogs running around too which I felt was not appropriate as some children aren't use to animals. Don't try to take young children to the park when the sun sets. It seems as if the park turns into a nightclub. It's definitely not for little ones. Great atmosphere for adults.

Every Game we go to ....whether Panthers or Knights or an Uptown celebration includes this eclectic park. Mostly it is on your way... but a large enough space to relax. If you are in Charlotte, mosy on by...it's a free walk ....

Hi! Who did I contact to plan/coordinate a wedding at the Romare Bearden Park? I am browsing locations in Charlotte area for future brides. What were the rules and policies of hosting a wedding there? Do you remember their rates and open rental dates?

Go to the local city offices and if that doesn't work, go to the county offices.
Hello,
I saw your post on Trip Advisor about your wedding in Romare Bearden Park. I'm looking at having our wedding there, but when I visit the website for the park I don't see any mentionings of them allowing weddings. How did you go about booking? Did you just call?
Thank you,
Nicole

Hello Nicole, I cannot speak to a wedding there. However, I have seen wedding party having photos taken there. You may need to contact Charlotte Chamber of Commerce or the Central Region Office (980-314-1002) for more info regarding wedding in that public space.
