Ever since I was small, I have loved watching planes take off and land. This is a free, scenic place to do it. A great view of the airport, and uptown as a backdrop is a little bonus. Open from 8:00am to 10:30pm.

Ok. Crazy people of charlotte and surrounding areas. Regardless of what you may have heard. YOU CAN NOT WATCH FIREWORKS FROM THIS LOCATION! You are miles away from the areas and the displays are ALL hid behind trees! Please, do not waste your time or...More

All ages were enjoying watching the planes take off and land. There was a constant stream of planes. Go in the evening when it is a little cooler. There are benches, but you might want to bring chairs.

The overlook offers great views of the Charlotte skyline and the airport. You can see take offs and landings with the Charlotte skyline in the background.

The busiest and most crowded airport I’ve ever been in, and I was here twice in the past week. When do you see lines outside the men’s room ? Weather is not an issue. Needs total redo. This is The America Airlines section. I went...More

I recently took a trip to Florida from Seattle and had a layover at the Charlotte Airport. I don't usually write reviews about airports but I felt compelled to express how nice I found the people of the Charlotte Airport to be! I was only...More

Took 2 teenage boys. Had a great time. We watched the planes while eating lunch. Neat hidden spot! Nice stretch of benches to sit or remain in your car and watch.

No. You should make it. The terminal is fairly small and the gates are close together. They have “moving walkways” that can help you move from one place to the next.
