I found it incredible to walk through this complex as well as the other owner garages...and all for free! The amount of memorabilia items in the museum was quite a site to behold. I went to the NASCAR Hall of Fame with some of my family a few months later (It's worth it, by the way), and while there, all I could think was, "Wow! Hendricks Motorsports Complex (et al.) could easily be added here...except for the space." That's how impressive the complex is, it is virtually museum quality. And seeing them work in the garages was really cool too...my brother-in-law and i got to see a sneak peak at the new paint scheme for the 24 car before last year's Daytona 500. So much to see, whether you're a Hendricks fan or not, or even if you're not even a stock car racing fan. Very well done!

The museum is packed full of the history of Hendrick Motorsports. Lots of race cars as well as trophies won by the many different drivers over the years. After visiting the museum I drove over to the race shops. The lobbies of the race shops were filled with more trophies and other memorabilia. The floors of the race shop are not as viewable as at some of the other team shops but definitely worth the visit.

We visited Hendrick Motorsports Complex on a trip to Charlotte for a football game. Its a great place to visit & the staff was friendly. I was able to get an autographed Chase Elliott shirt while we were there which was an added bonus!!! They have lots of great items available for purchase including many one of a kind items.

You don't realize when you go that there are three buildings. The first building, houses past cars, trophies and memorabilia along with the gift store. The second building houses two more past cars but this is always were you can watch them get the cars ready for racing. The third building housed more trophies and also had an area to look out into another garage. Both garages you could eat off of the floor they were that clean.

Now, I am not into NASCAR but I found this very interesting and again, it is FREE!

First off there is more to see here then other shops that charge to let you see the garage area like MWR and it is more then just a retail outlet. I would stop at Hendricks any time I made the 13 hour trip to Charlotte. Also you never know who your going to run into when your there we bumped into Steve Letarte who was great to talk to.

The Hendrick Motorsports Complex is amazing! We toured two buildings - the 5/24 car building we were able to do more of a tour & see into the shop as the people were working. Lots of cars, trophies, photos of drivers, history and driver's helmets and suits. The 48/88 car building was under some construction so we were not able to see into the shop area - they had 4 video cameras showing the shop are though. We then went back further in the complex to the museum which was also amazing. One of the women working in the store part of the museum told us that we could go out back & watch the pit crews practice. That was really great. There were 2 cars / 2 teams and once they completed what they needed to do for the car - changing tires, fueling, etc. they gathered around & watched a play-back on a monitor and critiqued it. We would highly recommend a visit here - and there is no cost!

We were a bit disappointed when we went here. It was not well marked. We pulled in the visitors' parking lot and at first didn't know which of the 3 buildings to go to. Couldn't see the label on the museum building at first. Interesting cars and memorabilia to see, though. Shop had a bunch of things for fans to buy. When we were leaving, we thought that was it until the man at the door asked if we had gone to the shops. We asked more about that and found that the shops where they work on the cars were farther up the hill. We would have totally missed that. Hendricks needs to put up better signage, both along the road and inside the shop buildings so that you know where to go. There were more cars and memorabilia in the shop buildings. Couldn't see much as far as car work goes. Would have liked to see them working, but even if they had been, there was not great visibilty into the work areas.

While in the Charlotte area if you like Nascar this is a good place to go. It is right near Lowe's Motorsports Track and is definitely worth a stop. There are all the trophies Rick Hendrick and his driver's have won through the years. They are fun to see and of course, they have a store to buy all your favorite driver's things.
