The park was prepared for the heat, with free water available, however since it was well into the 90's we needed more than 5 ounces of water and we did not feel like it was fair to stand by the self serve soda machine and gulp down water. They really needed it to be away from customers getting meals. Anyone going to the Waterpark needs to make sure they keep their shoes on when going in the changing rooms. I have never seen that much black mold anywhere before. They really need to bleach and power wash the changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers every night. We did feel safe with all the rides and the people working there were very nice under extremely hot conditions.

I absolutely love Carowines. I'm so sorry for all of the negative reviews, but this place is amazing! Yes, it feels like a gigantic fair, but other than that, it is an excellent way to spend the day. You will get the most fun if you come early when it opens so that you can ride on the rides before the crowds get there. Or you can do like me and come after 4. I believe the entrance price is half off. And you won't have to worry about all of the teenagers because of the curfew. However, you will be asked to show your ID so don't forget to bring it. The lines are shorter after 4, which means more fun for you. And it is cooler. The workers are American and are so nice and sweet. And they have started the free summer concerts! Yeh!!!! Also, the food is just as good as Disney's even though I wish we had a Margerittaville or another fun resteraunt like a drive inn themed one. There is plenty of seating round the park and free water cups. But as far as the rides, I wish we could have an inside pirates ride and the haunted zombie ride needs to be revamped into an actual haughted house. Other than that I have no complaints. I can't wait to see what surprises it has for the Fall and Christmas season. Oh and thanks Carowines for having Brad Ross all summer. 😍

The last two years our family visits Carowinds on their opening day on our way home from spring break. The park was clean, well maintained, and we enjoyed our favs, Fury, Copperhead and more. Yes, we waited 30-60 min per ride. Had a blast! With how expensive everything is these days, I’m just happy the ticket price didn’t skyrocket.

This is one of my favorite parks to visit when I am in the south. I am a cedar fair passholder, so my admission to this park was "free". The park itself was very clean, and the employees I encountered were professional and friendly. Most of the rides were running well. The only main issue was that several of the rides were not operating the day of my visit. The park was not very crowded on this Thursday, so perhaps there was a staff shortage keeping several rides closed. My overall visit was a good one, though.

My family was at carro2inds July 2024. My girls are 14 years old. We got a room across from the park because the hotel in the park was booked. So we drove them to the park. On our last day there we took them to the park and let them out as usuall. A security guard stopped us and gave us a guest code of conduct ticket. We followed all park rules. Another car comes in behind he let them go up to the gate to let their kids out but would not let us let our girls outta the same gate, then we went to pick them up they tried to make us pay 3.00 d0llars to park and see fire works. We were not staying for fireworks we could see them from our hotel. Last summer trip for carrowinds. Over rated and over priced.

Went to Carowinds for the first time this Past Summer and i loved it, it reminds me so much of my home park called Kings Island, but for me i will call it a southern version of Kings Island, since i love this park and the fact that it has rides like Fury 325 (Which is my favorite Giga Coaster) and thunder striker to Diamondback and Orion. they also have an indoor restaurant called Harmony Hall that looks exactly like festhaus from kings island, except it has different restaurants. so yeah overall amazing theme park and amazing roller coasters, would love to come back one day.

Wonderful park. Great coasters (the top 4 are world class), workers were all nice, very clean, great selection of merchandise, there was a very good magic/illusions show at the theatre, the park had a great feel/atmosphere, the waterpark is included in the admission price (making it one of the best theme park deals in the country), the park being on the state line of NC/SC is a really cool novelty, and very good food for a regional theme park. My only complaints are A) there are no water rides at all in the theme park and B) there needs to be WAY more indoor rides and shows. Still, an excellent park.

Tickets for two adults and three kids came to $476.90. No outside food. Food prices for 3 burgers $78.23. One of the longest lines iv ever seen for each ride. It was by far the worst experience we have ever had and will not be back. Fights, women dressed in attire not appropriate for children. Long lines and humidity do not mix.

This is one of the nicest cleanest parks we've ever been to!! People complain about the price but it costs to keep it up to date and clean!! There's 14 roller coasters and they are all awesome! There was something for everybody. We ate snacks throughout the day so we didn't spend too much money on food also got the refillable souvenir cup for 20 bucks each. So free drinks all day!!! This is a fun-filled family packed amusement park! Totally worth every penny!!

Nicely laid out with waterpark adjacent. Food was tasty but outrageously expensive. $17.99 for 4 chicken fingers with fries. $52.00 for a pizza with 4 bread sticks. Rides kept breaking down. Very frustrating after standing in line for 30+ minutes. Happened at least 3 times in one day. Not enough shade provided while in line. Misting stations were very rare in lines and non-existent elsewhere. Didn't even look at souvenirs with the amount we had to spend on food. You aren't allowed to bring your own. The waterpark was nice but there weren't enough tubes at any of the rides which made wait times on very hot concrete long.

My son refused to get on the observation tower because it looked too rickety and unsafe. The park itself feels unappealing, with minimal theming and prices that don’t match the experience. Aside from the roller coasters, the rides feel like cheap knock-offs of carnival attractions or those found at better theme parks. Overall, Carowinds looks ugly, lacks charm and simply doesn’t offer enough value for the price we paid.

The website said tickets start at 39.99 for limited time until June 21st. When we get there we were told that was just on certain day which was not mentioned on the website. Regular ticket sales were stupid ridiculous but I could stand there & purchase tickets online for about $20 cheaper. To add insult to injury, they wouldn’t even refund our parking fee for their faults advertisement.

After we paid to get in the park we were told by other customers that during the week days they don't open all the rides, and on the Friday we went many rides were closed. Also, stood in line for 1.5 hours for the Nighthawk rollercoaster ride just to have it breakdown just as we were finally at the boarding gate. Waited an additional 30 minutes at the gate while they worked to fix the problem, then we were told it will be down for a lot longer than expected. I ask the heavy set guy at the gate do we get a fast pass for when it gets running again, he said no you will just have to wait in line allover again. Later that day it was running again, my wife stood in line again for 30 minutes before they announced it broke down again, finally late in the day we were able to ride the rollercoaster. On the positive side the large Fury and the Dale Earnhardt rollercoasters were always up and running and provided a nice long ride.

We've been wanting to ride the no.1 rollercoaster (Fury 325) in the world since it opened in 2015. What an incredible ride it is, however I wish that the setting and terrain would be more interesting, MF at Cedar Point does better. Intimidator and Copperhead Strike are the only 2 other coasters that are top shelf IMHO. I must say that the park is in great shape and very clean. It's a very family oriented destination, no shady or rowdy characters either which is a major plus. Wait times were reasonable on a weekday in August and a season pass is reasonably priced if going more than 1 day. If you are a coaster aficionado Fury 325 is worth the trip & visit, but nearby Dollywood and Kings Dominion are superior parks overall.

Everything was amazing the food, rides, and gift shops but expect for when a woman approached me and my acquaintance with our plushies we won from a game randomly walking us to us interrogating us asking pretty much obvious AND RUDE questions (ex: “do you have any receipts for those plushies”, “where did you get them from”) the whole interaction was completely point blank disrespectful and just a weird thing to do to someone why approach us? No idea and just to accuse me and my acquaintance for stealing was just so disrespectful. And leaving a smart remark this random woman who just approached two resting people sitting down on a BENCH saying this as she left “I’ll go check to make sure” (Yes we are African American, and to just randomly interrogate us for no reason I’ll have the assume that it had something to do with race and on top of that we were just sitting down doing nothing but catching our breath). Honestly I wont be going anymore with just that encounter I just in experienced.

I agree with the false advertising statement! Be careful when purchasing tickets online. Their Wednesday/Friendsday for $24.99 cost me $34.99. I contacted their IT number and customer service. Nobody seemed to care that their website was wrong. I was told they ran out of $24.99 tickets. Seriously?!? Emailed customer support and got a very standard reply that had nothing to do with my problem. But, by the way we appreciate you having a season pass. Ha. I responded back but do not expect anything else from them. Their customer service is terrible!

Brought the family to celebrate my grandson’s birthday. Tickets cost a fortune and are non-refundable. We got rained out and lost all our money after about 4 rides. Lines are long and slow. Took over an hour to get on one ride because it’s under staffed. Food prices are insane so we just went to a local restaurant. I guess it could be worth the money if you live nearby and get a season pass, but for a one time visit we found it to basically be a big money grab. Not worth it in my opinion.

I have never left a review but I had some an awful experience I felt like it was needed. Me, my boyfriend, and friend went to scarowinds last night, first I bought the tickets online and didn’t realize there was a difference in the scarowinds and carowinds tickets so I called and they said I had to pay extra at the gate. Which was fine until I realized we paid $375 for 3 tickets and 3 meal plans, it was 300 online for the ticket and 25 dollar up-charge when we got there, when the scarowinds tickets are cheaper then the carowinds tickets online! We get inside and the map on the app was useless we walked around in circles and couldn’t find anything half the rides were closed then we finally found one scary walk thru and it was good then after a few hours we found another one which was just awful in the description it was a corn maze but it wasn’t scary you were basically just standing in line the whole way and it differently wasn’t a maze then we decided to find food once again the app was useless and we couldn’t find anything we finally found a place and it wasn’t good my boyfriend couldn’t even eat his sandwich and mine and my friends food wasn’t good we used our meal pass for that and the lady said you can only use it once every hour and a half and you can’t get drinks so what is the point in that? Every employee there seemed to hate their job except the dancers and a few people, whenever I asked someone a question they wouldn’t answer or pretend they didn’t hear it. It was an unorganized train wreck from beginning to end and I really hope you don’t waste your money too!

I have always loved Carowinds. I’ve been going since I was a kid , every few years. This week- August -2023, it was really hot but a few years ago, the water area helped with the heat a lot.

This year, half the slides were closed. One wave pool was closed. One slide didn’t say how tall you had to be until you were all the way up there. Another didn’t tell you “No earrings or jewelry” until you had walked up hill, up stairs, & waited in line.
It wasn’t crowded because it was so hot. That part was exciting until you realized how crowded the water slides were, since half were closed.

The other disappointment was then closing at 7 pm. They used to close at 9 or 10 pm. So many businesses cut hours for Covid & it never went back to normal.

Other than that, it was a decent, hot day.
