- Susan BColumbia, South Carolina11 contributionsLoved this place! My son flew in from California, and I was trying to find places to eat. This one had food, and beer! Once we got there it was just a different element then what we've experienced before with the picnic tables outside, the band playing. It was wonderful, and we loved it. The food was tasty, my son enjoyed his beer, and we most definitely would come back again, when I pick up my son from the airport.Visited October 2022Written December 26, 2022
- danno6317Ontario, Canada104 contributionsGreat Stop Here!Stopped in mid afternoon Feb9th & was a good visit for the short time we stayed. Staff member who spoke to us was very well informed about the beers & was great filling us in what we might like to try. Pretzels were really good as well....I'm sure this place would be hopping on most nights but we were either too early here or on the wrong day. Doesn't change the fact this is a good place to come toVisited February 2023Written March 2, 2023
- Debi MMemphis, Tennessee355 contributionsNice find!!Got stuck in Charlotte for the evening by missing our flight. We stayed at a hotel close to the airport. Found Mecklenburg Brewery was very close to where we were staying! It was a gorgeous day and I saw that they had a park like area outside. I tried several of the beers. Everything was basically German style. Loved the atmosphere! Loved the brews!! We ate an early dinner there and really enjoyed it. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, one of my faves! I was a little disappointed in the taste. Couldn't put my finger on it, but, none the less, disappointed. I wished I had ordered some of their sausage plates. The looked phenomenal and popular. My husband ordered the pulled pork and was very satisfied! When we got there it was deserted. By the time we left on a Tuesday evening it was packed!! I ordered one of the beer pretzels to go. It was delicious! If we are ever in Charlotte again, I know where to go! ThanksVisited April 2023Written April 30, 2023
- Isa RChicago, Illinois3 contributionsNice food and great atmosphere!Food and atmosphere very nice and friendly. Has an old-world charm to it. The food was good. We enjoyed the big bowl of mussels. We really liked the Hornet's Nest beer and brought some home with us since it's not sold outside of Charlotte. Sadly. Visitors to Charlotte should definitely stop in here.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 11, 2023

I was visiting a friend for the weekend and she brought to to this spot for a quick beer. I had the Captain Jack's beer and it was very good. The weather was perfect so we sat outside. There were lots of picnic tables that were "socially distanced" and that was good. Folks that worked there all had masks on. As we were leaving the live entertainment was starting and if we didn't already have other plans we would have stayed. I recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Excellent! One of our favorite local breweries. Beer is amazing (Copper is my personal favorite) and food is great. Recently met friends here shortly before Covid 19 restrictions and had a lovely time ordering several dishes and enjoying them outside in the lovely biergarten. Great atmosphere inside and out, in any season. Lovely trees, spacious tables, fire pits, live music. Support this brewery!!

Invited here for business event, thoroughly enjoyed it. The building is great with old (at least old style?) wood and brick structure. Food was great, was catered buffet style, I assume it came from thoer own kitchen. Everything was excellent, including the staff.

This place is huge. Big outdoor space with covered pavilions for shade. Plenty of room to "keep a distance" from others. The craft brews were OK. Not all were available, but maybe that's a "Covid Thing." Prices were very reasonable. If you need a fun spot for a group, family, etc., to gather, go here. Dog friendly, too!

What a fun place to hang out at - great and tasty selection of beers and good food too. A good place for families (nice play area for kids) and groups of friends. I'd recommend sitting outside!

Great beer and the Tap Room (reminds me a little of a German beer hall) is cool and fun. Pretty unique for the Charlotte area. The location is in a warehouse district/area of town, so many people don't know about it and it's not on a busy road. I've been there a few times and they have come a long way over the last year with Tap Room hours and service. Still needs a better menu and a little refinement on the service, but I can see the progress.

We are staying in a down town hotel. How far away is the OMB?
kutzfam
Summerfield, FL13 contributions
Actually in Charlotte, the downtown area is actually referred to as “uptown”, and it’s about a 20 min drive to OMB. Check out the light rail system too, as it may bring you close enough that you can walk or Uber the rest of the way.

I believe so. They are German style brewery. Call them and ask them. They will probably be very busy in October.

I know that they do celebrate it in the last few years, but for this year I don't know - best would be for you to contact the property to get a confirmation.

Yes there is. Not a large selection but it was on the menu and the lady next to me was sipping happily on her glass.

It's a huge place with a huge outside area and they have some pretty generic foods for pickier eaters but the food is great. Outside sometimes has live music and some outdoor games like corn hole. I took my 4-6 ye olds a few months ago and they enjoyed being outside and listening to a band play. Very chill vibe here!
