I've been to Germany many times and my wife lived there. The food at Old Mecklenberg is authentic German. I had the Captain Jack Lager. Very crisp light beer. Excellent price, very knowledgable star and swift service. You will not regret it.

We loved this place! It's no Sierra Nevada, but we loved the beer. They had a festival of food trucks and live music. So fun!

Good beer, good food, and live music. How could things be any better? Definitely a fun place to go. You have the option of sitting inside or outside. Inside was loud and crowded so we outside and made the best choice. There was a very good beer selection (the Copper amber ale was world class). It surprised me but the... More

Visited this "authentic" German brewery and bier hall while visiting from out of town. I would add this to my list of "must do's" while visiting Charlotte. Everything is geared toward a great time, from the warm and comfortable servers, bartenders, and tour guides, to the great beers, fun German foods, and great prices. Don't worry if you don't like... The food is fantastic, I highly recommend the brat with curry ketchup. The beer is great. But, the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic it's like a German beer hall.

Dropped in for the early afternoon tour . Sampled the beer several different kinds got a flight so I could try them all. Fat boy and captain jack tied for first. Short tour very informative they seem to strive for quality. Then hung around for another beer and some conversation with a local great afternoon.

This is a wonderful place with great beer and snacks and a very decent blues band. Just perfect for that late sunny afternoon relaxation fix. There are games, a field to play in, a food truck, several kiosks to get your beer... And there is a grand inside that I just glanced on the way to...well it's a beer garden!... More

Tour was casual and longer than advertised. Dinner was fast food caliber. Service was lacking. Beer was OK, wine was limited. Disappointed with experience as we were expecting more from a name connected with Mecklenburg and Charlotte.

With the weather being what it is we were able to use the outside seating area which can hold hundreds of people. There were umbrellas for shade, corn hole, beer trucks, and food trucks all at your fingertips. I highly recommend for a great time oh and I don't drink alcohol but still had a great time so don't hesitate... More

Friendly Staff, great atmosphere. Excellent Beer, food is typical German Style just there to accompany the beer. Outside seating area great for families with young children. Live music. Wonderful relaxing Saturday afternoon.
