Working as a team to solve all the puzzles. Hayley R was our game master. She did an excellent time of giving us clues for the Illusion mystery room without giving the answers and was very friendly and courteous. I live in Ohio; if I lived in NC, I would want to do the other rooms and have her as the game master. The owners, who created the room, were very creative and made the challenge so much fun to do. I applaud their ability to create such a great escape room!

The owners/designers/creators of these rooms have blended together a wide variety of mind bending puzzles to create a wonderful experience.
Riley monitored our progress. He only assisted when asked. He doesn’t tell you the answer, more nudges you to focus on a specific clues to work the puzzle yourself.
Rooms worked perfectly. Everything was well designed, theme carried throughout all rooms.
Great fun had by our entire group.

What a great way to spend a rainy day! I took four teen boys and we were able to finish the puzzle with just 20 seconds left. McKenzie did a great job keeping us on track and making it a fun experience. Highly recommend Timed Out.

If you've never done an escape room, then you can stop here & go straight to this company with no regrets.
If you have done escape rooms before, here's a detailed review for you. Timed Out Escape is independently owned & local, but you'd never know from the moment you walk in. Everything feels so polished and professional. This feels like a corporate business. The rooms have incredible attention to detail. No cheap props. And it's the little things: professional videos, an alert tone which matches the theme of each room, and responsive game masters who knows exactly how far along you are in the game. All this is highly appreciated from those who have done many many rooms.
This review is for my favorite: Illusion, a magic themed escape room. As I said earlier, lots of attention to detail with all the puzzles themed for magic. (Which by the way, is an escape room theme you don't see that often!) In addition, after doing several hundred escape rooms, we still found unique puzzles not seen before!
(We liked their work so much, we came back and did the rest of their rooms a few weeks later. I can happily say that the uniqueness of the puzzles, the immersive set designs and the customer service was maintained across every room!)
Timed Out Escape is great for new escape room adventurers & pros alike. The owners clearly love escape rooms themselves and have put lots of work & passion into their business. If you are ever in Charlotte & want to do an escape room, this company needs to be at the top of your list.

Loved the Noel room! The challenges are completely different from last year's Noel room, and it was a lot of fun! Great (safe) way to get out with your family and get into the holiday spirit! Every room is private, so it will just be you and your group. The puzzles are fun. We have done all of the rooms at Timed Out and highly recommend visiting whether you are new to Escape rooms or a veteran!

I took my daughter and 2 of her friends to timed out escape for her 15th birthday. We were originally scheduled to go on Thursday but they were expecting an ice storm where I lived (a little over an hour away) so I called and they had absolutely no problem switching us to Monday. When we got there the staff was so sweet and helpful. This was our first escape room and my daughter chose the hardest room, the precinct. We didn't make it out but we had a whole lot of fun trying. I would recommend them to anyone.

We had a great time with the kids in the "Illusion" room. The puzzles worked well and were challenging. Victoria, our game master, was super enthusiastic and did a great anticipating our questions and responding quickly. The room was well appointed and the background music set the mood without being distracting. Lighting changes also helped to set and change the mood. We had a great time and would recomend it for families.

The best escape room that I’ve ever done in CLT!!! Our game master Nicole was amazing and the few times we needed a hint she helped direct us without giving us the answer. The room was a moderate challenge, with a great variety of puzzles. Highly recommend!

We did the SantaQ for my daughter’s birthday and it was so much fun! We had ages 7 to 46 in our group and everyone thought it was very cute, festive and still challenging. Victoria was our game master and was excellent. She gave us some much needed clues when we got stuck and was great to work with.

This is 3rd escape room that we’ve done and definitely the best. We were definitely go there again. We highly recommend and our game master Joe was awesome, providing just the right amount of help or not when needed to keep it fun!
