I’m from Florida with tons of beach area and lots of it. I’m glad this is here, but it was just too crowded for me. But, doesn’t mean it’s nit worth it because it is a public place and free.

Stayed in the campground for one night. Small but very nice with a good forest cover. Good showers and bathrooms. No electric sites. Discount for seniors. Sites are paved and very clean. Water is available. No trash cans at the sites, instead a centralized dumpster....More

Lake Norman is a great place to visit . They have paddle boats you can rent for cheap and canoes.They have great hiking trails that you can take with the view of the lake. AWESOME PLACE TO VISIT!!

The Lake is beautiful but we had trouble finding a place or places to view it. Either Trip Advisor or the area needs to promote places to stop and see it. We would drive and found only two places to stop. Better signage or promotion...More

As with anywhere, the weather varies quite a bit. Yes restaurants and stores are open.

You can rent boats at Morning Star in Cornelius.
