Overall this is a nice lake. There is a lot of privately owned homes near the lake. I expected it to see more pristine lake and water, not like-side homes and party boats. We found a pleasant park for the kids to play and hike, but it wasn't easy.

Me and my husband went to this park to see if it would be a good park for a family outing. This park has a very nice beach, but no play ground for children. I would recommend to this park for a day at the beach.

Lake Norman may be nice for people who live around it, but it's not worth a trip from anywhere. It's overbuilt with houses crowding the shoreline.

This lake is clean and lots of fun. It's a great place to take a boat or just swim around with friends. I've even seen quite a few people fishing.

An incredible and stunning lake, perfect for a nice vacation with the family. The lake is beautiful and nothing but fun. Also in summer the lake feels like taking a bath, the water is super warm.

The lake is very nice and natural looking (it was man made). The towns all around are very "cute" and great places to eat and visit. If you are in the area you should certainly plan day trips.

The water in the summer time is like having a bath it is so warm! Friends of ours took us out on their boat and the kids and us ride on inflatables out the back of the boat, hours and hours of fun and there are eating places you can pull your boat up to for a bite to eat.... More

I love Lake Norman. Most of the lake is private. There are boat launches and small parks on the lake, but I am sure you would have a very difficult time getting in on the weekends. I found Blythe Landing a nice place to have a picnic lunch. They have a few picnic tables on the water and at a... More

We rented a pontoon boat with our grand kids and spent the day riding around and letting them go tubing. The lake is huge and during the week the boat traffic is minimal. There are many miles of shore line and lots of slews to prak for a quiet lunch.

Very nice park for mountain biking, hiking or family picnic. The park is well maintained. Some of the park personnel, however, seem a bit nosy.
