Lots of neat attractions but recommend going on your own to fully enjoy the exhibits rather than as part of a party. The kids seemed to have fun one drawback - a LONG way from the party room to attractions for little kids. Two staffers with many kids made it hard to organize. The staff were good and tried hard... During the Christmas holidays, our 4.5, 6, and 9 year old grandsons were visiting us in Charlotte. Discovery Place provided a truly wonderful afternoon of fun and education. There were many live demonstrations during the day. We attended one about liquid nitrogen. The boys were mesmerized at how quickly items can freeze when touched by it. Among the other entertaining... Love this interactive museum. Our favorite is the bed of nails! We enjoyed the Ominsphere, which we saw the Mysteries of China. The special exhibit on Genghis Khan was great too.

Discovery Place is great for kids 10 and under. They have the occasional exhibit for adults which can be enlightening. The IMAX theater provides great films about nature that both kids and adults will enjoy.

Several of us spent a few hours at this museum. It was 3 kids and 5 adults. The kids were 19 months and then 2 3.5 year olds. Overall the kids had fun. The Kid Science room was definitely a hit and upstairs there was a lot of interactive stuff to explore. The museum is on the smaller side but... More

This is one of those great museums where kids rule. We were there for the Ghenghis Khan exhibit which was excellent. We saw loads of kids running around learning from all of the exhibits on the "children" side. There were exhibits that were more adult focused. Fun day out for kids - if you are adverse to loud noises and... More

My family and I visited here on a snow day when schools were closed so that made for less crowds. The interactive features are awesome for all ages. The rainforest is cool with the rope bridge and there are pretty aquariums to look at. We did save the toddler room and water table for last as even with aprons, the... More

Great place for all ages. They always have interesting exhibits and hands on experiences. Perfect for out of town company. Uptown also has a lot of very good restaurants. My favorite is The Capitol Grille.
