Went to see the movie Oceans at the Imax Theater. While the theater itself is very nice, the clarity of the images on screen was horrendous! Out of focus, very grainy, not enjoyable at all. When entering the movie, the Discovery Place logo was on the screen and that should have been a clue. The type was extremely grainy with... More

Be sure to go during the week if you can. It is really crowded on weekends. They have some wonderful speacial events and displays. The kids love it.

Something about discovery place brings me right back to being a kid and enjoying everything it has to offer. The tours are fun, the staff delightful, and such a great place to bring kids of all ages.

I was dubious that Discovery Place would hold their interest for long, but I found us all rather interested in the Genghis Khan exhibit to start and then we kept missing the live presentations as we wandered from exhibit to exhibit, from Physics to the small aquarium and the touch tank. We enjoyed things like the bed of "nails" and... More

We had a great time today. Out 3 year old enjoyed the water splash area in the kids zone and banged on the bucket drums with all of his might. We stayed in the kids area for about 45 minutes in constant entertainment. We built forts and raced cars down a ramp. We put balls in a maze and watched... More

This is a great science, hands on center for kids and/or adults. My husband and I enjoy it as much as our kids do. Lots of activities.

Every time I get my Grandchildren the most desired place is The Discovery Place. We take the train from S. Blvd and visit the place. We watch the I-Max then they have a great time with all the exhibits. They do NOT want to leave but we can not miss the train as Granddad makes it known that the 4:00... More

Lots of neat attractions but recommend going on your own to fully enjoy the exhibits rather than as part of a party. The kids seemed to have fun one drawback - a LONG way from the party room to attractions for little kids. Two staffers with many kids made it hard to organize. The staff were good and tried hard... During the Christmas holidays, our 4.5, 6, and 9 year old grandsons were visiting us in Charlotte. Discovery Place provided a truly wonderful afternoon of fun and education. There were many live demonstrations during the day. We attended one about liquid nitrogen. The boys were mesmerized at how quickly items can freeze when touched by it. Among the other entertaining...
