I enjoyed spotting several murals painted on random buildings in the downtown. Several times, I tried to pull my car over to photograph these attractive murals. I believe one of them is near the PNC Bank on North Columbia Street between East Rosemary Street and...More

Always fun to walk up and down Franklin. People, food, shops all add to the ambiance. I still miss the days when the cats cradle was on franklin though. Regardless, there’s always something going on.

Franklin Street and downtown had the ideal ‘college downtown’ atmosphere. Restaurants everywhere, many with a pub like feel. Tar Heel logos and Carolina blue are abundant.

Chapel Hill must be amongst the most boring, middle of the road places in the US … even the centre feels more like a sub-urb. There are some restaurants and cafés but nothing really exciting. I guess it is a nice and quiet place to...More

The southern kind ways was the most impressive part to my vacation. Everywhere I went the locals were genuinely caring and kind.

We have been visiting Chapel Hill for many years. It's a classic college town - and the downtown area, with its mix of restaurants and shops, makes for a delightful wander. Its restaurant offerings invite more than wandering - they offer really interesting food in...More

Cool hangout with lots of options for dining and libations. There is probably arts and cultural things as well but who cares about that crap.
