A great store all about food and wine

Wonderful culinary store. Made me wish I had more room in my suitcase! Great variety of locally produced nuts and sauces, as well was housewares, wine and gifts. They also have a... read more

What a neat place. Tons of gourmet and hard to find items. Lots of great gift ideas. Saw the cafe and the great looking menu. Ordered lunch, but was disappointed with my sandwich. The bread was too thick and very stale. Ended up taking the bread off. I guess on a different day it would have been much better. The... More

As I've said before, my husband works for Aveda Estée Lauder. One of the institutes is in Chapel Hill, allow us to get to know the town better. My first visit to Southern Season was one of complete elation. I couldn't believe that such a store, with EVERYTHING I could possibly want for kitchen and home , including prepared food,... More

This is a very unique place, offering a huge variety of tens of thousands of local/regional artisan goods. Anything edible that you can imagine can be found from sauces to soda, salsa to cookies. There is a coffee/drink bar, a deli, prepared food area, candy/chocolates counter, nice wine and beer/cider selection, a wide diversity of kitchen goods, pots/pans/tools, local gifts,... More

I like Southern Seasons, but I do find its prices very high. I go there when I can't find something somewhere else. I also take my visitors there as it is something to see. I recently went to their yearly sale, and found NOTHING that I wanted. They just put all the items that haven't sold on sale, but not... More

We love, love A Southern Season. While living in Chapel Hill, we visited often for specialty food items and holiday treats. They have nearly everything you can imagine. I think the seasonal and holiday-themed chocolates in the counters at the front are probably my favorites. Stop in sometime! You'll be glad you did.

I visited SS for the first time while visiting family in Chapel Hill. Wow! It's huge. An amazing selection of just about anything edible & drinkable and just about anything you'd need to prepare it. We got take-out dinners from the deli, and each dish was superb -- barbequed chicken, kale salad, shrimp salad. This is not a discount grocery... More

I was arranging to buy chocolate for my sons' mother, my wife, for Mother's Day. I am sure that they could have shopped on line and had it shipped but it's fun to go into a store to shop and act as their agent. I bought four truffles one with Grand Marnier, one with raspberry, one with Kahlua and one... More

This is a store with a companion restaurant. The store has a range of high-end foods from breads to hot sauces to beer and biscuit mix. You can treat it as a southern food museum, stock up for a southern style picnic at the deli area, or browse for cookware and dishes, things you never knew you needed to complete... More
