A Very Comprehensive City Park with Great Lake Trail
Sep 2021 • Solo
Apex Community Park has about every facility available other than a swimming pool. It has two ball fields, two soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness trail, two playgrounds and a nature trail around a lake.

There are also three restroom facilities one near the entrance and one at each end of the lake.

The lake trail is a 2 mile long paved trail that is very popular. About 90% of it is shaded making it a good trail to hike during the summer months.

Overall the park seems to be well maintained as well. Rated high for the trail and all of the different facilities in it.

Great Day for a Good Walk
Jun 2020 • Couples
Twice around the lake equals about 4 miles. Lots of people out enjoying the good summer like weather and most are paying attention to social distancing. A few could care less and insist in walking right down the middle of the path, but for the most part, people respect social distancing. People enjoying fishing, looking at many turtles, biking, running, walking, and just enjoying getting out doors.

Perfect Place for a Stroll or Training
Mar 2019
Used this park a lot during my training for a half marathon. Convenient, clean, well traveled. Saw serious runners, walkers, moms w/babies in strollers. Friendly and close to everything.

Perfect 2 mile loop!
Nov 2019 • Solo
If you want to walk in the shade and take in the sights of nature this is the perfect place. The trail is wide and paved. There are some spots that you can walk through wooded area if you would like. Bathrooms and parking available.

A nice little walk around the lake in the morning with the dog....he loves it, and it's nice and cool in the summer. Well used, and lots of friendly dogs and their people!

A great way to spend tax dollars!
Aug 2019
Tax money gets spent on all kinds of things. Apex Community Park is a great way to have spent money! As others have said here, there are lots and lots of things to do. My wife and I walk the trail around the lake. It's a bit over two miles in length, very moderate inclines and declines, and pleasant as can be.

A Lot of Options Perfectly Compacted Together
May 2018 • Solo
This park has so many options that include: tennis, basketball, work-out trails, walking trails, picnic areas, etc. You drive through each option a little overwhelmed at the options offered. At the end of the compacted options you come to a final circle of parking options that provide access to trails surrounding the lake. I was absolutely surprised and impressed with the paved path that surrounds this serene and meandering lake. It is a pretty wide loop that is well-attended by locals: families (lots of parents with lots of children), dog walkers, personal training enthusiasts, local business that use the park for heath training and dog training, Scouts, etc. There is a very nice pier that people fish from and some were catching catfish from the pylons. Other people were fishing on the embankment area - children, adults, elderly etc. - this area also has a parking lot that gives direct access to the trail, lake and fishing.

This beautiful park allows a relaxing and safe walk around a scenic lake with a wide range of trees and foliage to enjoy. There are a few dirt trails that go off the paved trail that provide you closer access to the lake. These trails have picnic tables situated in key spots so that you can have a refreshing moment in a secluded atmosphere.

I really enjoy taking my dogs to this park to train them. Both of my dogs are rescues and require a lot of extra attention to navigate other people and dogs. This park is the perfect place to take them for an hour walk.

The park really feels like it is a neighborhood retreat. I love nearby Lake Johnson in Raleigh, and lived directly off the lake for a while, but it was a commuter's retreat. Apex Community Park is truly a place where neighbors in the area love to play together. I really love this park!

Great Sunday Afternoon
Jan 2018 • Family
We enjoyed the new Elevate park, although it was covered in snow leftover from the storm during the week so the initiatives were slippery. After the kids got soggy and worn out, we wandered on the lake trail and loved seeing so many people enjoying the park, exercising, smiling, walking dogs, and enjoying the fresh air. Very much needed after being snowed-in for a few days!
