My daughter and I visited this impressive Hindu Temple near downtown Cary. At the time of our visit on a weekday evening, we observed we were the only non Indian people there.

One of the members of the Temple invited us in. The Temple inside is not that large but impressive. Note that photography and videography are not allowed. Also you may not enter the wearing shorts, skirts, or tank tops. You must take off your shoes also. They do have places to store your shoes near the entrance

After exiting the Temple you walk around the compound. Everything is very interesting architecturally and there are some gold elephants and another one on a tower.

The towers are very impressive but a new one is being built that is about twice as tall as the others.

The people there are very welcoming to non-Hindus. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Cary

Temple guide pleased to answer questions about the temple details and the Hindu faith. Educational for exploring beliefs and culture of the oldest religion in history. Art, music, food, dance appeal to all the senses. Read temple etiquette before going.

Beautiful temple open to the public. Remember you have to take off your shoes to walk around as well as dress modestly. No shorts or tank tops around. Just something to be aware of if you visit on a hot day. This temple is filled with rich history and gorgeous architecture

Website did not explain no shorts allowed. ( No tank tops, no short skirts). Shoes off. I had to get the office person's attention, she said outside only and she would give us wraps to wear. Unlike others experience we walked around for 5 minutes and no one approached us to do any explanation. Beautiful place and excited to pay our respects but very disappointed in the long run.

The Temple has a huge premises and is being maintained very neat and clean. Outside the temple, there is 'Dwaja Stambha" as is the case of any Hindu Temple. On one side of the corner is 'Sudershana and 'Vishwaksena' is placed just opposite to this.

A few yards away, there is Sivalam where the deities of Lord Ganesha, Lord Siva, Lord Subrahmanya and Lord Ayyappa are installed. There is also Navagrahas within this temple.

The temple is open from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm from Mondays to Friday. However the temple is open from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm without break.

Abhisekham for Lord Venkateswara is performed every Saturday and Kalyanam is performed every third Sunday of the month.

The temple is very close and walk able distance from where i stay at Cary. I visit the temple daily during my stay at Cary. The temple is very peaceful and large number of devotees visit on Saturday.

The annual Brahmotsavam is celebrated during Vaisakha-Jyestha months falling during the months of May/June every year. The temple has garden all round and gives a grand look.
One need to visit this temple when they come to Cary or Raleigh in North Carolina.

S.V temple is housed in a large complex with a traditionally architected temple. The main deity is Lord Venkateswara also known as Lord Balaji. In addition, the complex has a Siva temple and others too.

Additional note: Saturdays are generally busy. A food vendor sells inexpensive south-Indian meals/rice dishes during the weekend.

When you see the outside of this temple you will be expecting a lot on the inside, but you may be disappointed. The exterior is constructed of concrete with very intricate carvings of Hindu figures; quite magnificent. The interior of the smaller building doesn't look much different than what we would call a fellowship hall in a Christian church. The main difference is the niches with statues embossed in gold. The interior of the larger temple is also not very ornate on the inside and has more golden statues in niches. What I found most enjoyable was the hospitality of the priests and members of the church who were present when we visited. They were happy to explain their religion and generous in offering food which was presented as an offering. We visited during the normal visiting hours without any prior reservation. It's definitely worth a trip if you keep an open mind. You may want to read about Hinduism before you go.

Very nice temple in RTP area. When we visited, some of the deities were newly installed and the whole place looked freshly painted. Was expecting a cafeteria to taste the traditional dishes but it was not available. During the weekend, a food truck stays for a short period with limited supply of food
