Enjoyed every minute. Think I've walked every trail. The Venus Fly trap educational tour was a lot of fun even as an adult. I learned so much.

We were there in July the weather was hot the water temperature was just right, the waves smacked us around a bit but that's ok.

So we just left fly trap cabin. $50 a night. Cabin is adorable, new, clean and airconditioned. They sleep 6. Cons/ no water at site and long walk to either bath house. The bath house needs fans. It's like a humid sauna with sand, dirt and mildew everywhere. The shower curtains need to be cleaned or replaced. Great campground, quiet. Love the cabin and... More

We ran and biked several times from our rented cottage to the state park down to the marina during the week we stayed. We also hiked on the Sugarloaf Trails, about 4 miles from the Visitor Center. Nicely maintained trails, beautiful marina. Educational visitor center.

Beautiful campground with lots of shade and peace and quiet !! Check out the nature trails when you go! The owners are lots of help and the beach is only a few miles away.

This review is for tent campers although there were plenty RV campsite options too. Our family camped for the first time at Carolina Beach State Park, which is <8 minutes away from Carolina Beach Boardwalk but you wouldn't know it at the campground as it was so quiet and scenic. Campsites: The sites were spacious as in we had a... More

Beautiful options for running, hiking, and even camping. New air conditioned cabins are available for a reasonable fee per night as well.

Carolina Beach SP is tucked away back from the beach. There are hiking trails through a variety of coastal ecosystems and the facilities have vastly improved from years ago. It's definitely worth your while to stop in and visit.

We stopped in to pick up a new NC State Parks passport and to check out the renovations to the campground that include RV sites with full hookups. Just like all state parks, we found everything to be perfect and the rangers we spoke to were extremely nice. Some of the camping spots were small and we usually pick out... More

Fun to run or hike the sugar loaf trail with dog, always on a leash. Watch out for others not using leashes, seems to be common. Nice soft ground for running, sometimes a bit sandy.
