Stayed in Sunset Beach recently and I needed a place to golf on getaway day and I booked the Pearl almost as an afterthought It turned out to be one of the highlights of the week We played Sea Trail The Cats Tidewater and Glen Dornoch and the Pearl was in the best shape of them all. We were supposed to play the west and east courses. These are 2 more scenic of the 3 nines However when we got there they put us on the west and north which was disappointing. The place was busier than anywhere else we went and the staff loaded us up and sent us on our way. Not much direction or interaction. Tees were for the most part very good Fairways mowed and lush Greens were outstanding. The best we played on all week. I noticed more groundskeepers and maintenance here than at other courses and it appears that more efforts are being made here. With so many places to play in this area the Pearl right now should definitely be considered

Played this course in late February a couple of days after several rain events. It was cart path only as expected due to the weather. The course was in just fair condition. The holes were long and had numerous water hazards, planned and from recent rain. Staff was great! Lore signage is needed along the entrance road and to traverse between the 3 nine hole courses. There was no restrooms except at the clubhouse. It was on the pricey side.

From the moment you dropped your clubs off at bag drop, to the pro shop and snack bar, very friendly, professional and hospitable staff! We played yesterday, Feb. 23rd, and the course like most is so saturated. It was cart path, but no one had to wait , played very smoothly and about as quick as being off cart path.
We played West-North courses, beautiful holes and each one seemed different and challenging. Some fairways were pretty narrow, the greens were in great shape for all the rain they have had . Make sure you wear black clothes and don’t forget your sand wedge .
The bag drop explained the highs and lows of the two courses, both different. Highs were, couple holes ran along the inter coastal and parallel to Oyster Bay, lows were couple really long par 5’s, we did see one gator.
Just like when we started , they thanked us for coming and playing their course, great customer service and we will definitely play The Pearl again even if it is cart path it is still worth playing.

Played in October 2020. We had two groups of 3 people each. When we arrived, we had to wait for a couple of groups to make the turn before we could tee off, which was fine and understandable. However, went south after we calmly waited to tee. I was in the front group of our 2 and after we made the turn, I noticed our 2nd group was no where to be seen behind us. After my group finished our round, we unloaded all our stuff and waited for our 2nd group to come up the 18th fairway. After about 25 minutes of seeing no one, all of a sudden we see a 5-some coming up the 18th, and none on them were our group. Already pizzed, I called the clubhouse to see why a 5 some was allowed to begin with and why they had allowed them to jump in front of our 2nd group. Got some smartass in the pro shop giving me some kind of BS excuse. I simply cut him off and told him it was straight BS and he knew and I knew it. Told him they were trying to pack the course and screw any groups that had already paid and out there and I then told him we would NEVER be back! He again tried to give some BS reasoning, I hung the phone up on him and will NEVER play there again. AVOID this place at all costs, play elsewhere!

Worse conditioned course I have played. If they have a groundskeeper, he/she needs to be replaced. Tee boxes at times made teeing off similar to playing out of a sand trap. The sand traps themselves didn't include any rakes, so the conditions if you found them were sometimes unplayable due to traffic wear from previous inhabitants. Greens have a lot of multi-directional grain in them which wouldn't have been an issue had they been cut, but since they weren't, balls couldn't roll true. Cart paths were in such poor condition, it was best to avoid them. Our cart even had a mold covered plastic divider between the back of the seat and the clubs awning. In an area where there are so many really nice courses, I don't know why anyone could choose this place. The staff seemed very nice, but that doesn't do much when playing. We played both Crow Creek and Farmstead on previous days and they were in great shape. Pearl needs a lot of work.

WOW! Played both Pearl Courses and was very please with the conditions. Tee boxes are lush and green, greens are fast and, well.....green! No painted surfaces here. Now I see why they host many Pro & amateur events on these courses.

As a scratch golfer this was a hard course, some of the greens were hard and when you landed on the green there was no divot and some of the greens when ever you hit the green you left a divots, and the green were hard to read as far as the break in the greens, when you landed anywere other than the fairways then you walked away with a lost ball or a unplayable lie, what I did like was the golf cart that came around and you could get something to drink and a snack, a course like this you would think they offer gps golf cart but they do not.

A few friends visited for a long golf weekend. Was looking very forward to a well maintained course. Was very disappointed. Very wet. Tee boxed were poor. Would definitely not recommend it.

3 of us played Pearl East on a Saturday afternoon on a recent trip to the Myrtle Beach area. We had hoped to play Pearl West but found out when we got there that they closed the West course in the afternoons because of their bentgrass greens. Should have called ahead I guess. Anyway, practically no there on this hot summer afternoon. The course was in very good shape. Only a few tee boxes were not in good condition. The greens (bermuda) rolled nice. The course is rolling and has some very good interesting holes. A few nice views of the wetlands area. It really is a pretty course but this was not our first time to play it.
The bag drop and pro shop staff was friendly. There was not cart girl on this afternoon but we were made aware of that before we went out.

Absolutely Awful: Eight of us played The Pearl's East Course this past weekend, and there was more sand on the greens than on the beach in front of our beach house...we've never experienced anything quite this bad in 23 years of play at North Myrtle Beach. Don't know exactly how much we paid, but currently, The Pearl East is a $25 course and management should have communicated this to all foursomes before play began.

The fairways had very little grass on them, and we know where the groundskeepers got all the sand to place on the greens...it came from the sandtraps. On three separate occasions I found myself in the traps (yeah, I suck), and it was like hitting out of the parking lot. The Pearl lost eight golfers who will no doubt seek other courses to play in the North Myrtle Beach area over the next few years. What a shame. This was once a pretty nice place to play; now it is ranked on our "lowest of the low" because of conditions that weren't communicated before the Visa Cards were signed. Bush League...
