Our guide, Tal, led us into the woods to experience firsthand the adventure of finding and identify diverse mushrooms. After a short while we accumulated 40 mushrooms; then Talk Galton explained the various families of mushrooms, how to identify them and some of their uses. It was all together a fabulous adventure.

Tal was an excellent guide during our mushroom walk and his love and reverence for the land and knowledge for mushroom identification was exceptional! Looking forward to more adventures with Snakeroot Ecotours!

We were visiting the area for a week and wanted to learn about local native plant life. We signed up for the orchid walk and could not have been happier with our tour. Tal introduced us to several different native orchids, each one tiny, jewel like, and amazing. Along the way he also told us a lot about the many different kinds of mushrooms that we saw, such a variety! He obviously enjoys sharing his wide knowledge of the local biosphere. Highly recommended!!

We had an excellent experience with Micah and Snakeroot Ecotours - he found a great trail that was scenic but quiet, and the whole family enjoyed climbing up rock creek!!

We had a fantastic walk in the woods with Tal. We saw a spectacular part of the forest, that we would not have found on our own. Tal is a wonderful guide, and taught us all kinds of things about the trees, fungi, mosses, lichens we passed along the way. He knows more about birds than he will admit , and was able to identify quite a few by song. We found a big beautiful lions mane mushroom and took it home and ate it!! Overall, it was a perfect way to spend half a day, and we plan to come back and visit Tal again.
